I just got my MP44 I was very surprised when I opened it that the bright orange muzzle nut was plastic. Is there a place to get the metal muzzle nuts? I was pleasantly surprised that it shoots a consistant 383 with .25 bbs not the 450 to 550 I had read about online.

If it's shooting 383 on .25's then that's about 1.7j or 435 fps using .2 weight bb's. Try your test on .2's to get an apple to apple comparison and to confirm

Where did you get your MP44? Just curious as I want to get another but don't want a plastic muzzle nut.

won it on ebay 125 plus 19 shipping. There are several on there right now in the 120 price range. the local fileds around here have a 400 fps limit with .25 so I am good there. I am thinking about getting another one and down grading it and making a MKB42h out of it

I'm as frustrated as you are.I just got mine from evike.com. Best price I have found 200.00 free shipping. Received mine yesterday. Blasted orange tip. To top it off its a MP40 simulated muzzle nut. Very fine grooves just like the original. Now the MP44 has 15 grooves around it. Look at the base of the sight you will see a pin that you can push in just a tad. That pin should be popped out to engage the muzzle nut when fully seated. It is a 14M L.H. thread on the originals. I want to take mine off but I'm not convinced the barrel is threaded on the end. Look in your manual, they even show being able to unscrew the muzzle nut after depressing the spring loaded pin just above it. Take a look at this link. www.germanmilitariaww2.com/mp38.htmlI'm not exactly sure how to get one but he's got them, 25.00 + shipping. I guess if its not threaded you could have a machine shop make a OD threaded sleeve that will slide over the barrel and epoxy it on the the barrel then thread the nut on. The crazy thing is the manual shows the correct nut on the gun. I wouldn't even care if it was plastic. Thats nothing that Krylon Fusion 2519 won't take care. That's a flat black. Dries incredibly fast. Hard to find though. I found mine at a NAPA store. Krylon Fusion is especially made for plastic. You don't even have to rough the surface. Re-coat within 24 hrs or after 7 days. Some kind of freaky window there. Great great stuff though. Go over it lightly with a 3M pad, blends right in. Well I've got a note on this forum as well about the same subject. I'm glad it's not just me. I may approach my dentist or a industrial x-ray place that x-rays welds to see if that nut is threaded on or slid on. Anybody else have a thought on how to find out? Love the rifle otherwise. I am going to strip the stock though and refinish it. They need a little help with the color and finish of the wood. There's some dude on youtube with a MP44 totally aged. Just unreal. He's even stamped as much info as he could on the gun. STG44 above the bolt and serial #'s. Looks like a real one. Well let me know what you guys think. Need a great sling check out AT THE FRONT.COM Most realistic stuff I've ever seen US & German. JMW1955

the AGM is threaded. I just used channel locks witha piece of leather to keep from maring it too much turned it off. Painted it and put it back on. Bidding on a sling right now. If I don't win it will get one from a gunshow or take the one off of my mutt 98k real gun and put it on the mp44. Sorry if bad grasmmar tired and eyes won't stay open
