This thread is an embaressment to WW2AA. I am fairly certain that the official and non official policy of the WW2AA is to exclude no one from any event based on color of skin, creed, sexual preference, or religous proclevity. Those of you that feel you have a right to exclude anyone on these grounds or would not want to attend an event on these grounds should probably just leave the forum and the group as a whole. You will not mesh with the spirit of this group and we will not mesh well with you.
Please carry on with your plans for a Korean War game however.

Yes its very sad that the korean war has gotten that title, most people have no clue what that war was about (it was almost ww3 democracy vs communism) Most US players (leg infantry and marines) could easily attend because they dont have to buy a new uniform or gun... But people playing north or south korean troops may have a hard time finding a uniform since this was the forgotten war... but the weapons wont be as hard as the uniforms for the north koreans. I have noticed it with Vietnam reenacting and it seems with Korean War as well no one likes being the bad guy. At least with WW2 there is always a large German force to fight. Doing a PVA impression looks like the easiest way to go from what I have seen so far. Same uniform and most of the gear that the Chinese used in WW2.

Same uniform and most of the gear that the Chinese used in WW2. actually at our HMSG Vietnam events, quite the opposite is true... we have been seeing more and more interest in players becoming NVA infantryman at our events as we have been teaching historical facets of the life of an NVA grunt. at our last Vietnam event of the year, we had about 15 brothers of the revolution join us at Silent Sunset 2. the feedback we got was so off the charts, next year we will be holding a RECONDO-type NVA Sapper School that will go more indepth on the life of an NVA soldier, eveything from how and what they prepared for food to field tracking and LRRP hunting. should be a really good time as we will have real vets as cadre for the event, just like RECONDO. here's a pictures of those remaining at the end of the SS2 event:

Yea, I remember at the debriefing we thought there was like 40 of you guys. Personally, I'd like to do a WWII PTO event before a Korean War event.

Finding weapons for the Communist side will be harder though. The Chinese still had a lot of the Mauser bolt actions left over from WWII and the Russians were also supplying them with captured Japanese and their own stuff too. I am not sure what the North Koreans would be using, probably a mixture of Chinese, Japanese and Soviet weapons? Either way, not many stuff out there that is airsoft. Oh here is a reenactment site of the Korean War theforgottenwar.proboards.com/

ya the communists (north koreans, chinese, russians) use a mixture of: russian weapons, chinese weapons, german weapons, and japanese weapons.

the MAIN problem is, the lack of Communist bloc 40's/50's era weapons. Sure they used SOME German and American WW2 stuff, but it wasn't the norm, especially later in the War when the Chicoms joined the War. LOTS of PPSH's,M44 carbines and whatnot. There's also a decided lack of Jap weapons as well. Skirmish-able ones anyway. I'd love to do Korea. Theres a group who just started it in blank fire, but theres not much shooting going on,just basically marches and patrolling.

most of the north korean guns would have to be custom made.

PPSH is apparently on the way from both Ares and AGM, so there's your first correct gun.
