From what i've read, the Marushin Garand is a really unreliable gun, could anyone confirm this? Also, which would be better for someone doing a 101st Impression, the TM Thompson, the Marushin M1 Carbine, or the Marushin Garand?

Any one of the three would do fine.
But from a historical standpoint the Garand is best, they were the most common. But it is gas and quite complicated so I say thompson is you've never owned a gas gun before.

I concur that the Thompson is the safest bet untill other reliable AEG versions of ww 2 allied guns become available. A shame because the Thompson is hence disproprotionately present on the ww2 airsoft battlefield. A reasonable Garand AEG custom from a Marui M-14 is available from... gosh....me for a finished fully assembled price of $695.00 plus shipping. Or you can buy the kit to assemble yourself on your existing M-14 for $300.00 plus shipping. Gun is brand new in the M-14 box with all the original stuff and all the grand parts added to make it look very very much like a Garand with instructions on how to shorten the magazines into almost flush mounted clips. All the Marui reliability with the vintage and unique look of a Custom Garand. (real wood and real steel components used.)
