Hello,
I am in need of a M1 Infantry helmet liner, and I have been checking out ebay, and there is a korean conflict helmet liner up for sale. Would this helmet fit in my M1 Infantry helmet? thanks for your help!

woops, sorry I forgot to add that it is a 27th Armored liner. Would an armored korean war liner fit in a ww2 infantry helmet?

It's more than likely that it will.

I agree there are very very subtle differences in the WW 2 liner and subsequent steel pot liners but none that would cause a later one not to fit in a WW2 helmet. The fact that it's referred to as a 27th Armored helmet liner is probably that it has a unit insignia or something on it. (There was no seprate armored liner) The tanker helmet was quite different (more like a leather football helmet) but it didn't have a liner.

yes it just has the decal on it, so it will probably fit. And if it doesn't for some reason, I could always sell it. Thanks for all the help guys!

I've actually seen this in a reenactment setting, and my Grandfather confirmed that most guys in the European theatre rarely if ever even SAW a liner. They just wore their jeep caps under the pot.

I have also heard of times when GIs wore the helmets without liners using their jeep hats however interviews I've conducted (dozens and dozens) stated that it was extremely unusual. Most soldiers in fact had liners and used them. They often wore the jeep hats under the liners under the helmets. The wool hat was designed to be worn with the helmet.
Patton hated the jeep hat and fined soldiers that had them on without their helmet. His excuse was they were unsafe but the reality is he hated the looks of the jeep hat.

mauser98k dose not know they don't fit that well Kingofspades doesn't know how to spell. The US Army used the same M1 helmet but with little midifications into the 80's(I think). A vietnam helmet liner will fit in a WWII pot!

over the years there was some slight change in the curve of the dome on the helmet. However, it depends on wether your helmet is original ww2 or is post war or even late war. With my helmets and my experience, I would say that the post ww2 liners (have a slightly smaller curve) will fit well enough, but not perfect into a ww2 helmet. but not ww2 liner into a postwar smaller helmet.......

They're all pretty interchangeable, mostly because it didn't make sense to make that many different types
