Viva has announced on airsoft news eu that they will produce a .30. No real word on when it is to be released or if it will be a huge POS that will in turn be cloned by another chinese company and turned into something cheaper and better working like the STEN but lets hope it comes out soon and works well. Built out of steel/Alum., Includes ammo box and tripod. FPS 390-400fps airsoft-news.eu/news.php?item.3905.1

i really hope it will be a bigger production run (and maybe cheaper) than the mg34 though

i really hope it will be a bigger production run (and maybe cheaper) than the mg34 though Yeah, otherwise this will be neat but not a really game changing improvement. If VIVA does not mass produce them, I'm hoping a Chinese company will. A reasonably priced MG-42, 1919, or MG-34 would go a long way!

This is the same VIVA that tortured us with the '34. You remember, the one that went from "coming soon" to "discontinued" overnight? Sold in like two countries, was quite expensive, and moderately functional? I hope you all will forgive me if I do not come running to the bandwagon.

Looked like they rushed it into production, didn't work out the kinks,

This is indeed exciting and.
Note there are a few minor cosmetic problems with their model from the pictures.
- Viva uses a crappy matte black paint that chips off easily on their sten and it appears they are using the same here. - There is no adjusting screw on the grip bar, it's modeled flat on the Viva without a slot. - I note the back plate pistol grip used on their model is the early 1917 style and not the more common cast mold grip type. If so, then the grips would be bakalite - Tripod should be olive drab, not black color. - ammo can has some major cosmetic issues including shape, folds, handle, color the label.
Good news is they are all fixable issues but the one ting that can't be fixed is the price, I bet the price will be over $1000.

Personally,I wouldn't jump right on this one, hopefully, someone will make a better one somewhere down the line.

I bought my 1919A4 parts kit from Ohio Ordnance for $300 and made an aluminum right side plate for $40. If you have some skill with building, this would be a better and cheaper option in my view. Tripods can be purchased or built and the old style .30 ammo can with correct markings cost me $10. I won't be buying this gun either but I think it's better than the airsharp ABS model.

I have been pleased with my Airsharp replicas such as they are and at the price felt like they represented a good value. I would think looking for a well put togther one or an unfinished kit would be the way to go for someone on a budget. I also got a water cooled M1917 .30 Cal with tripod (Old style) from Too Tall and really like it as well. I lugged plenty of real weapons when I was in the army and don't feel the need to do that anymore. They look and function fine. Interesting about the tripod cups Big Ed. I added some to my Killbucket tripod and like Viva I too put them on backwards. (Easy fix)
