(Apologies in advance if there is already a thread dealing with this.)
Is there any interest in recreating the war's street and house-to-house city fighting battles, such as Stalingrad, Cassino, Aachen, and others?
I was working on designs the other day for designing modular, portable walls that could be configured to simulate different structures, but am not sure if there would be any application. (I've been reading G Company's War, which has a section about street fighting on the Belgian-German border.) Ideally, the wall frames could mount different painted plywood faces, so there could be windows, holed walls, or even (using painted cardboard) thin walls that can be shot through!
What do you more experienced airsofters say? Can you even practically do WW2 CQC?
We do urban stuff in the Neillsville WI village. It gets hairy but can be a ton of fun. Whenever we're ordered to take the town it turns into a blood bath. Grenades are absolutely essential in taking buildings safely. Less than safe players need to be watched closely to avoid shots taken under ten feet.

All of the fields we go to have small plywood cities made up of about 10 or 15 box-like structures. If I don't make it in the US Army I' gonna buy some massive land in VA or NC and start a solid world war 2 airsoft field with a lot of this. It has always interested me to see the famous factory fighting of Stalingrad.

Good man, joining the Army. In less then a year and 5 months i'll (hopefully) be on my way to Parris Island, becoming a Marine.
In the on-topic note... I love CQC battles. In my old mil-sim group, we actually had a real house and about 15 acres of woods and field surrounding. I loved playing at that field.

aj czarkowski: I don't think there's gonna be anything in northern New England anytime soon, and as far as I know there hasn't been in a while, but if you're willing to drive to Connecticut there's usually some decent sized battles a couple times a year.
