Would leg infantry ever wear the tanker jacket, if so, which units?

There is plenty of photographic evidence of "leg infantry" wearing the "winter combat jacket". Remember, the nick name was "tanker jacket", the official name was "Winter Combat Jacket". So it was not just for tankers. Need one? I just received a shippment. Drop me a PM. ;D

The "Tanker" jacket was one of the most popular items of clothing in the ETO and was worn by all branches that were lucky enough to get their hands on them. They were especially popular with officers and NCOs who probably pulled rank to get them or had the extra financial resources to acquire them.
In addition to the issued jackets there were also custom made variations that were acceptable uniform items. Like all things US a wide variety of shades were seen.
