I saw a pait of leather leggings that lace up just like the canvas ones. They were the same hieght as well. Have any of you heard of them before? On a rlated note. They wanted forty bucks for them. They also had a pistol belt for 25 a springfield ammo belt for 45 and a non-combatant gas mask for 35. If anyone is interested I can pass on contact info.

I've never heard of leather leggings that lace up. In WW1 and between the wars there were some leather gaitors that were used but they didn't have the hooks and laces. $25.00 for the pistol belt seems high and $45.00 for the springfield belt sounds about right maybe even kind of a good deal if it's authentic and Khaki and in nice shape. Gas mask is like tetes on a bore. IMO.

I believe I heard from a local militaria dealer that those leather leggings were ww1/2 cavalry leggings.

I saw some calvery leggings, but they were pretty long, and these are the same as the canvas ones.

They sound to me like leggings from the pre ww1 era
