Nice to see another company making WW2 guns. If only that M14 was a Garand.

Not for nuthin', but aren't we becoming inundated with M-14's all of a sudden??
It's like its the M-14 is the new M-4 in all the different incarnations they are making it.

The Garand was one of the best rifles EVER produced, the M-14,a fine rifle in its own right, was used, sparingly in one conflict in large numbers until replaced by the M-16 series. Like I said somewhere else, the MAJORITY of airsofters like full auto weapons, hence the M-14 etc. and now more than one BAR model coming out in the near future. I MAY be wrong, but I'm beginning to doubt we will see a Garand in the foreseeable future.

A little while ago I talked to WE about a Garand, they seemed to like the idea, and said that they would consider it for a future project.

There was a rumor. Some company I don't remember which rumored they were going to make a Mosin Nagant, Lee Enfield, and M1 Garand. I think it was AGM. I don't remember though, would have to dig it up.

I agree with Fuslier that unfortunately I don't see a Garand AEG in the forseeable future. The companies simply see it as too limited of a market. They're wrong of course and one manufacturer doing it well would be infinitely more successful than 8 compaines doing M14s or 3 companies doing PPSHs. A real missed opprtunites. I have written all the major players suggesting they make one and they all reply politely that they will consider it. All for naught (Thus far)

I think also the main problem with WE making a garand is that WE makes gas blowback, gas in magazine guns, and truthfully, the Garand is not exactly the easiest gun to make Gas Blowback without external air. Simply put, the en block clips, even if you used the size of the clip+rounds would most likely not be large enough to provide ample gas for the minimum 8 shots with any noticeable recoil (or even move a the decent sized bolt of the m1). Meanwhile, magazines aren't quite so cramped for space, which would explain why an m14 and other guns using magazines would be viable.

Just a side note, the M14 WE is building is a Gas Blowback. I wonder if the sten and greasegun will be GBB as well...

One of the guys I talk with on a RS form "Calguns.net" works for KWA. We talked once about them making an m1 Garand. The topic has come up there, but apparently the fear is that the design of the gun would cost to much money, versus the number of units sold. With M4's they don't have to completely re-design a brand new gun, they can just re-design a couple of things on the body and have a new product that they know will sale. The other concern appeared to be the desire to do it right and the objection to actual magazines... Maybe if more people hounded the manufactures about making an M1 Garand maybe they'd see more of a market. Do a mass mailing to one top manufacture each month?

Yea but we'd really need to plan a mass mailing. A few random guys mailing will do nothing. We need over 100. Designing shouldn't be a problem. Their are GBB M14's to copy and AEG M14's to copy. All you would need to change is a few externals.
