I havent been able to find an answer to this one and feel quite ashamed since Marine is my forte and I could not figure it out.
Were the USMC issued rigger pouches?
I dont see why not but still I wonder

No one was issued rigger pouches. They were a custom made thing. "Rigger" as in made by parachute riggers. No one other than paratroopers had them.

Rigger refers to a rigged device, as in troop made. The airborne had to carry in everything they were going to use, thus, they were allowed to step out of regulations a little bit, and attach some impromptu additions, to carry extra magazines, etc.

They also modified the pockets on M43 pants and added the Reeinforcements to M42s.

Well, I will yield to you, since you probably know more than I on most subjects.

Tommy gunner, all those airborne guys think their rigger pouches were just so cool! They haven't seen Marine rigger made stuff! Check out Grunt Gear, Sailors in Forest Green and Frogskins and Dungarees. USMC made all sorts of custom stuff from utilities to gear, and it was a common thing for them to do. Remember the USMC spent alot of down time on ships going to and from invasion to port. Many became excellent seamstresses (seamstressirs?). Modifying your gear was a USMC tradition, cause those army contract quartermasters could never get it right no matter how much you told them what you needed!
