Okay, so I spent the better part of the evening finishing up the first two sections of a pricing guide for the GI basics which I think will be very helpful. I remember what a pain in the butt it was tracking down stuff when I finally learned what I needed for my impression. Hopefully this will help those who are getting started and some who are well on their way to having a great impression. In both sections I compared prices from WHAT PRICE GLORY, AT THE FRONT, WWII IMPRESSIONS, CAPT ZAK, and a favorite of mine who I don't think is widely recognized but, I've always had good luck with them, BAYONETINC.COM Section one is the Uniform section. I think I got everything but, if I missed something don't hesitate to say something and I'll add it on. Remember, I'm only aiming for the basics. buttons and replacement shoe laces need not apply. Section two, I compared prices on almost every piece of equipment I could find. Some of it is more commonplace than others. I don't know how many people need a shotgun ammo pouch but... It's on there. So without further ado here it is www.fileden.com/files/2006/12/22/541425/WWII%20US%20Army%20soldier%20Impression%20guide.xlsIn addition, I hope to add a footwear section, a helmet section (naming some other vendors in that one) and of course an airsoft weapon section to bring things full circle.

Good work there man! If you don't mind, I'll definitely be passing this on to the local guys who are looking into getting an impression together.

That's awesome, Charlie! It sure would have helped me in my beginning stages, but I'm sure this will be a hit with the new guys to ww2 airsoft or even reenacting in general. Everything is organized an easily accessible. Great work!

no problem Napalm don't hesitate to pass this on. The whole idea of this was to help reduce the pain the @$$ tracking all this stuff down was.

Yeah I hear ya there... having a few windows open trying to track down the stuff on various retailer sites to compare prices kinda sucked!

Right- so do I- However our Polish cookie-offering friend is specifically seeking shoes to fit his inner Sasquatch- note that he said 'wide' At the Front don't sell no danged half sizes or wides! Sorry Polak- Reminds me of the scene in BoB when Doc Rowe finds Toye in his foxhole w/o boots- "What size do you wear Toye?" "You know Doc- size 9 like everybody else" It was a 'one-size-fits-all' and 'make-due-with-what-ya-got' world then- no 10.5 EEEs around

At The Front's US shoes run big. Originals did too. You can stack up on sox and insoles to make it extra comfy! Shoes were issued with bare wood soles.

Update time! I thought my service shoes felt wide! Just spied this on the At The Front Service Shoes Page: "Width: Although they are marked "D", all of our boots are made on an "E" (wide) last. If you have extra narrow feet, an insole and thicker socks may work. For extra wide feet you can try going up a size. Most people have honestly been able to find something that fits. There have been far fewer problems with this sizing than I had anticipated." Looks like you're in luck there Polak. Do I get my cookie now?

I have wide feet too, (usually 4E) and my pair of boots fit like a charm. BUT YOU GOTTA GET THOSE PADDED SOCKS! The bare soles will eat your feet quick.
