I really don't understand why there's not much interest in this theater, it is, afterall, where the U.S.'s war was started and finished. Seems as if i'm the only one interested in Japanese guns. They really are quite interesting (if outclassed), and i'd be thrilled to see any airsoft models.

PTO has never been popular even with mainstream reenacting hoewever there have been at least a few PTO Airsoft games I ran one last year as a matter of fact. There are a few airsoft versions of the Japanese guns but they are both high priced and/or don't work well.

I think the main reason.is there aren't too many people of Asian descent to be the Japanese. At least, not too many who are into airsoft.

Some people have a real issue either doing a Japanese impression because they are not asian or people on the other side don't like seeing non asians doing Japanese impressions. It doesn't bother me but there are a number of people that would take issue with it on both ends so there you go.

I'll rather see 20 six foot tall , blue eyed white boys making an effort to have period looking impressions than 3 five foot 5 inch Asian dudes in correct impressions . Quantity over quality man .

I'm half Japanese, incedently, so i suppose thats why i'm so eager to reenact them. I even find myself charging my friends shouting "banzai!" in backyard skirmishes. It's ironic that there's not alot of japanese era guns seeing as the sport itself originates from japan...

Gunny1944 and I do 3/128, 32nd Infantry Div. As well as 2nd Marines, so there are scattered few of us that do PTO impressions. Here are our "Leyte Campaign" 32nd Infantry Impressions...

What has really been holding back the quality events of the past has been venue challenges and sitractions by the common event sponsors in the NW. Recently the War Department has securred an excellent outdoor venuew that is beautifully laid out and avaialble with a landlord who "gets it"
Look for quality WW2 and Vietnam events to start back up again as the season progresses. No plans at present for a Pacific event although who knows?

There could be a great chance to hold a PTO event up here in the Pacific Northwest and during Fall or Winter.
How could that be you ask?
Well you see there was this hard fought battle that people forget about when they think about the PTO and it was fought in our backyard practically .
What ? How can that be you say?
Well it was fought in Alaska between the IJA and the US ARMY.
Problem solved for us P.N.W. Airsofters . ;D ;D

YES!! An Aleutian Islands game would be awesome! For US you would just wear Devil's Brigade patches and a regular winter uniform i guess, for the Japanese though idk what they wore. tThe only winter gear i have ever seen them use was back at the turn of the century in the Russo-Japanese War.

The Japanese landings took place during the 6/7 June 1942 on Kiska and Attu Islands. The Allied Forces sent to retake the islands in 1943 where a mix of Canadian and American Forces.

No chinese clone companies will ever clone or make a japanese airsoft gun. they would get shut down in a day.

No chinese clone companies will ever clone or make a japanese airsoft gun. they would get shut down in a day. If thre is money in it then the manufacturers would. The Chinese goverment doesn't care the model or maker, just that it's a gun which in China is not permitted. US models are made in China and they were at war with the Communist China too.

the US also didnt murder/rape on a large propagandized scale. judging from the current administration with Japanese relations, it is pretty iffy. But I doubt anyone wants to be labeled as 漢奸 voluntarily, even if they don't execute ppl under that name anymore, it looks bad for business. Noticing how there's only some IJA uniforms coming out from China, it are still some taboos about Japs and WW2. And I don't think the Chicom is as tolerant as the US govt.

Max1337- When it comes to the making of Japanese items and weaponry it's not about what Uncle Sam or Uncle Mao think. It's about "Where's the money?!?". The art of capitalism is being successful with an item people want. As many have said ETO is much more popular, so the companies make ETO weapons. The people who make the product and get the money don't care much for the political-biased BS, they care about the green! (or whatever color currency their respective country has)

Either way, there won't be a high demand for Japanese weapons and chances of them being made or counterfeited is very slim.
I was thinking of doing a Japanese setup one day... although I have other plans right now.
It is true that the ETO is very popular. Even US propaganda portrayed the events in Europe larger than in the Pacific. eg, posters have Hitler leading and Hirohito in second while Mussolini is trailing or hanging on behind.

Like i said , an event with only 5 guys that look period correct is not as much fun as an event with 20 guys that are making the effort of looking the part of the enemy.
