I was just wondering...what is the difference between a M1C helmet and a regular M1? I know that the M1C was used by the airborne and the M1 by virtually everyone else, but physically what is the difference? Click

The shell has different bales welded on, along with extra snaps on the chinstraps. They are affixed to the liner. The liner has A-straps to hold the chincup. This is the correct airborne adaption.

The M1C was a swivel bale model which later replaced the M2 D Bale Helmet which had the fixed bales.
