I have an original Havresack I ordered from bayonetinc I orignally ordered a new one from them but, they were all out and had forgotten to indicate as such so they gave me the Havresack at half the normal price for originals.
I've been very happy with it but, I've noticed when comparing it to other originals and of course new ones it was very dark in color and no matter how full I packed it, it had a very distinct look of being stacked in a warehouse for half a century. (edges are stuck folded in positions and certain creases are very permanent)
I was wondering if there was any way to rejuvinate this old piece of canvas and kind of reshape it or at least kind of "puff" it up a little bit.

Maybe take a hair straightener to it. Hell if I know.

It will soften up over time, like creases on pants, I really wouldn't worry too much about it. Say you just picked it up from the Repple Depple straight from stateside! Maybe to put a little wear on it you could use it for your school bag for a while, that way you'll be taking it out and using it everyday, and putting a little wear on it. But like I said I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Canvas, being made from cotton, will expand and contract dependant on the level of humidity is is exposed to.
In other words, throw the lollipops on a nice sturdy hangar and hang it on your shower rod- turn the water on Hot (mas caliente!), then shut the door and let it run- this will steam up the bathroom and create a nice humid environment for the "century-old canvas" to soften and expand in. Don't expose it directly to the water, its the steam that is going to do the trick for ya- and it may take a couple of 'steam room sessions' but that should work all those pesky folds and stiffness out for ya.
Slainte!

I would fill it with rags or some kind of fill so it steamed into a shape representative of a full bag. In fact I'd leave the fill in during game play so it looked appropriately used but wasn't to cumbersome and heavy. Naturally the ideal would be if it was realistically filled with a blanket, pouncho, some rations, a shaving kit, meat can and various toiletries and typical day trip items.

You could give it a bath... If you look in the GI Soldier's Handbook there is a prescribed way to washing and cleaning up your field gear.
