Matt, you should email me about this stuff. Its pretty easy. Here are two approaches. Try it on a piece on a scape piece of something. First spray paint the stock your painting tan either dark or light depending on how dark or light you want it. Then you can use either gel stain or paint to texture it. For the gel stain apply it with a paint brush in a grain line pattern. For the paint apply it with a paint brush then rub it in with a paper towel. I'll make a video tomorrow its super easy.

I sent you the video to your email man. ww2aa.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=technical&thread=7482&page=1#93417There it is. ^^^ Instead of posting two messages you can just go back and modify your last one ya know. ;D You should find gel stain and most hardware stores. Its made by Minwax. Not as much of a selection of colors as regular stain but it works better on plastic. Darker color work best. Check out my video though, you can do it with spray paint and acrylic paint too.

For a darker color use a darker spray paint for the under coat and then for the grain lines use a darker over coat. Like a very dark almost black brown.

Yes under coat needs to be lighter then the over coat keep in mind. The overcoat which makes the grain lines is easy to find. Just go to a craft store and look in the paint section. There should be many different plastic bottles of different color acrylic paints there.
