www.atthefront.com com Gets you everything you need. His HBT's are defected for 40 bux for the pants, pikc up one of his M41 jackets for 60. Find some boots and throw on some leggings. Don't even bother with the BDU's, it looks silly.

Im not shure you could get away with that suff (at all), plus Id just save up and get WW2 repro stuff to begin with.
Also concerning you upgrading the Thompson you can buy the Mosquito Molds M1928 Conversion kit.

Er..yeah... for starters, correct me if Im wrong, you shouldn't wear camo unless your doing a Marine Imp or your goin axis, If you were doing one of those you shouldnt use a BDU as some ww2aa members strive to be as accurate as possible to give others the expierience. Trust me one person who doesnt look the least bit period can ruin an event for everyone... And not to be an A$$ or anything but you wont look anything like the guys in the picture, even with the gear. My suggestion to you is my opinion (as in probably many people will disagree with it), Go get yourself the stuff Nimlas said and then buy your gun. You dont notice if a guy in a period uniform is using a modern gun...Just my $0.02.

US Army HBT Fatigue Uniforms These will be marked DEFECT and will not be returnable except for size exchange. Set $75.00 Jacket size L, XL $40.00 Trouser 34, 36, 38, or 48 waist $40.00
Note #1: These are closeouts and not returnable. They may or may not develop yellow streaks. Most have not. But we have absolutely no way to test them. Likewise, if you wear size 32 pants and order a 46 because it's what we've got, no kidding they're going to be way too big. Don't do stupid things like order uniforms that are 10 sizes too big or too small for you. That's batapplesauce crazy.
Note #2: This last batch is made from 2 different batches of fabric (sage green vs. OD #7) . The two are distinctly different from one another. We will try to match them up (jacket and pants) but it may not be possible. If no match = no happy, then don't order these!
is that what u guys were talking about??? getting one with like a cut in it so its cheaper... i wouldnt mind doing that..
EDIT***
since im going to get the thompson.. where am i going to put my mags???

Those HBT's at ATF are your best choice to look right on a budget right now. Friend of mine bought a set and said they are fine.

The website says they sometimes streak, but I've heard ALOT of people say that if you turn them inside when washing them, they dont streak at all. Definitely go with the HBT's......

Web gear is in both WW2 airsofting and regular- your crossdraw vest, your musette bag, your pistol belt, your crazy ACU tac vest- could be that kind of thing. If i'm wrong, feel free to correct me- at least that's what I generalize web gear to be.

I like to think were historical impressionists first and airsofters second, WW2 airsofting is fun becuase of the history, airsofting is the thing you get to do becuase you got the gear, and care about the history. aren't those the sturm M42s? what with that extra arm pocket and the ,now all too common place,101st patch sew over it?
personally, i'd go with the HBTs..they 'll let you have a much wider spectrum of time periods and theatres to cover.everyone was issued them....

If your looking for a Chicagoan retailer go to Capt. Zak, like Tommygunner said Historical impressionists first, airsofters second.

Yeah dude, I say don't go with the airborne impression, there's enough of those. Just go with an infantry impression, like phantom said get some HBT's and a pistol belt and a helmet and move on from there. Keep in mind that this isn't a cheap hobby. But really, it's up to you, if you want to go airborne, go ahead, if you want to be an infantrymen than go ahead. If you want to be a chinese belly-dancer than go away. ;D

Flying tiger doesnt have anything you need as far as clothing...... If you go para, then the best place to get jump boots is www.botac.com. Last I checked it was $104 shipping included...Ok I just checked back there - they have the black ones but not the brown ones...

Look on ebay, and ask questions about items, Flying tigers has a uniform like the paratropper uniform you showed, but it is of really bad quality. Also paratroopers did have HBTs, mainly in Training, but if i had my old comp i could show you some pics of 82nd boys in HBTs. Also if you do go Abn, go 82.. way too many 101... even though i am one Another thing is research is the best thing you can do, find out what type of soldier you want to portray, infantry, abn, marine, then get pictures of them, look up equipment, ask questions about equipment, and you can build yourself a really good impression. Also if you do want to buy an ABN uniform, the ATF imports are of pretty nice quality. Well thats all i can think of for now.. but just keep asking questions.. youll get a hang of it soon.. Ebay is a wonderful place.. but aask b4 you buy. -Cary
