Also, the helmet scrim, shoulder pads and gas brassard were common to the 101st, but not 82nd.

deacon2ad, since its the stich nazi thread, I'll mention the way you are holding the .30 If that thing had the barrel in it, there is no way you could hold it thay way for more than a few seconds, so just keep that in mind when your trying to look realistic. If it actually does have the barrel in it, stop working out, ultra muscle men were rare in ww2 -Gordak

I do remember holding up a real .30 at one point and now that I think of it, my arms would die! And Mccallion, I know that it wouldn't feel to good, therefore I wouldn't shoot it like that. Maybe Ill watch where I put my hands next time! Thanks guys Modified... So today I went to Steve Preston, (the president of the MVPA of Oregon)s house today. He has over 20 M1 Garands easily 40 M1 Carbines, maybe 30 Springfields... anyway you get the point. He also happens to have an A6, he let me handle it, and I can now honestly tell you that I could most definitely carry an A6 like I was in the photo. Not shoot it, but carry it. I'm not trying to be a brat or anything, but I am just saying. Anyway, thank you guys for the input.

How many pics of the 1st MARDIV do you have of them wearing P42 tops on Cape Gloucester?
How many of any camouflage uniform items(minus Helmet Covers Ponchos, Shelter Halves, and Shovel Covers, and Camouflage coveralls)do you have of this unit at this time?
I would say that you are more appropriately dressed for a 2nd MARDIV Impression than a 1st MARDIV Impression.

Tommy Gunner, Is that the same plastic stock springfield you landed at St. Joe with ? Plastic stock Springfield at Benton? I landed with a real steel M1903A3 Springfield rifle. Why did you think I landed with an airsoft rifle? TommyGunner

I have a 505th PIR signature, but I portray 3 other impressions. Nick

It may have been uncommon, but if it was available at the time, it could be done.

Raimond made the claim that I used an airsoft Springfield at Benton Harbor. Then WW2goy told him that I did not and that I had used a reall M1903A3 rifle.
Read the post more carefully, WW2goy did not say I used a reall M1903 rifle in the picture, he said I used a reall Springfield at Benton Harbor.
WW2goy also has seen and fired my airsoft Springfield in person so he knows the difference between the reall deal and the airsoft replica.

WW2goy was with me at the event this picture was taken. Infact he was the one who took it, he knows the difference.
This picture was not taken at Benton Harbor either, it was taken at the Volo Automuseum.
Im also not going to continue this, I know when to stop.

Looks great Deacon! Only thing I'd say ya is adjust your haversack so it rides higher on ya, and an E-tool, or did ya throw that pain in the a** away? ;D

Hey, thanks. bottom straps were cut down, during the war. So I am going to convert it to a 1910. It will make it look a lot better. And the e-tool is on my list, after getting a t-handle jammed in my junk at Jump to Destiny, we seem to have a mutual hatred for one another.

Deacon I really like your impression. It is very impressive but not overly complex by any means. It clearly shows that you're a BAR gunner and nothing more. Sometimes people combine so much stuff together in their impression it looks sloppy and overwhelming in a sense. Keep up the good work. I see that you mention you went to Jump To Destiny which is good you should definitely do as much stuff with battlesim as you can. Also if you're looking for other stuff up in the pugent sound - oregon area I can hook you up with Friends of Willie and Joe which soon a few of us are going to start our own 82nd Airborne unit for reenacting and living history. Definitely keep up the good work!

some points on the .30 cal. Gunnery Sergeant John Basilone reportedly carried the water cooled version of the .30 around and shot it. also Gunnery Sergeant R. Lee. Ermy picked up and fired the same model gun on his new show locked and loaded

for one, the boots ARE dubbed. My Haversack IS packed, but not crammed with applesauce . I shouldnt be wearing it anyway, being a combat impression. NOT transit. And yes the 43s were not in any way common. but i can spot out a few in photos.

Hairyapple, why are you carrying two canteens? It doesn't appear that you are a medic. Another thing: the placement of your E-tool would be extremely uncomfortable to wear in combat, not to mention would get in the way of your parachute harness.

Two canteens becuase it's freakin' hot during the summer where I live, and I really need at least that much water. No reason a soldier wouldn't have got a second canteen for the same reason. The shovel is there becuase that's actually where I have found it to be the most comfortible during airsoft events, as far as being in the way of the harness, I simply could have moved it once I hit the ground.
