According to WGC website this gun's fps is adjustable. So hopefully all thats needed is an allen key to get the fps to be field legal.

At the Shot Show the rep for GnG at their display said the FPS will be adjustable. I am not by any means an authority on German weapons but the rifle looked and felt quite good. Very much in sync with the quality and appearance of the Tanaka which is a terrific replica. Reloading the magazines with a new CO2 cartridge is a bit involved. (Although probably no more so than squeezing in Green gas) The rifle however comes with two magazines and the Co2 will provide adequate power for several reloads of BBs. I expect this rifle will be absolutely skirmishable. A couple additional spare magazines along with the two would probably be more than adequate. The Co2 cartridges are the smaller 8 gram, not 12 gram variety which will be a little harder to source.
Unlike spring powered, bolt action rifles, these gas guns have a silky smooth action and as such feel more correct as you go through the process. With the spring powered conversions there is always the balance point between creating enough power to be competitive in a full auto world and being able to quickly cock the rifle. My rule of thumb is, can I cock it at the shoulder? If not, it is too much spring.

2 mags... Thank you! Have maybe 3 or 4 mags a speed loader and a small bag of .3's and that will be my k98 style

I'm told by a G&G distributor for Canada, these are due sometime in March, so the U.S is most likely before or around the same time. If everything pans out of course.
Supposedly (just a rumor) the version with the 2 mags and a sling, was a production limited availability thing, most if not all models will be sold with just one mag. (Again, just a RUMOR!) I see a lot of pictures depicting the two magazines, so who knows?

That is good. I wonder how much the magazines will be and how much they will hold. I am hoping they hold about 30 BB's. With that capacity three magazines is about enough.

Nope. 10 rounds per magazine. The little wrench you use to screw in and open the Co2 cylinder is in fact the bb part of the magazine.

On Arnies on Jan 27, Land Warrior Airsoft in the UK stated they have the G&G Kar98 in stock already... how are the brits going to get it a full month and half before everyone else?

Ah that is too bad. Hopefully the magazines are reasonably priced.

I am hoping they have the "clip" bit, that attaches to the magazine separately. I don't see why you shouldn't *hopefully* get at least 2 if not three "clips" worth of ammo, on one co2 capsule.

A bit more expensive then I had hoped. In the states it will probably be priced over $500. I am sure it's worth the money though. Hopefully it is up to Tanaka standards. Most real metal and wood name brand guns aren't any cheaper though. Maybe they will make a plastic stock version for us cheapskates ;D.

If you order from Ehobbyasia you will get a $45 discount and shipping to the Midwest of the US should be $94(at least that's for MI).

two magazines, one makes the gun shoot 500fps the other one 350 fps. I can't believe they were able to do that

"The G980 should be arriving in the states very shortly. There is no exact ETA. It will be priced at $450.00. " after reading some reviews, its a absolute lemon out of the box...but there are some after market parts like a steel bolt which replaces the problem, but i still wont trust it

I thought it would replace the tanaka kar98 now that they are out of production and everyone's been making their own, but appearently the "G98" sucks
I hope their M1 Garand won't be the same. G&G is usually very reliable

I agree with you, alas.
I had high hopes for it. CO2? Yeah I can live with that, thinking it was the standard 12 gram ones.. 8 grams? Okay, huge down point for me. Needs replacement parts right out of the box? Nope!
Top it off, I sold my VSR project off to perhaps fund this... Alas.
Here's to hoping this gets cloned, with better internals/system or one of the other companies pops one out like some have said.

Looking at some video reviews it seems the FPS is all over the place too. Ah well I thought G&G could do better. Hoping someone will make a spring K98 still. Maybe Zeta Labs will come through with their version.

Danm , if you own the old version they want you to tell them and they will send you the replacement for free. That really is a great company. Usually you don't hear of that kind of stuff unless your living in the 1950s ;D
