Yea I heard about it on the WWII Airsoft UK forum. Seeing as they haven't made any springers, I am guessing it will be gas and the same price as their G96, which is $380. A bit better then the Tanaka, but still pricey for a lot of people. What I'd really like to see is a springer Kar98 from Tokyo Marui which would probably only be around $200. Oh well, we'll see I guess.

They need to put out a decent spring operated K98. I hope it's not gas, but if so it will still probably be nice.

Yea I was talking ideally not like its going to happen. AGM doesn't really make any good springers. CYMA doesn't seem to come up with its own designs and neither does any of the other well known China companies from what I know. I guess maybe Ares or HP could step up and do it. Oh well that's probably not happening anytime soon anyways......

Marui was always intended for the Japanese domestic market where 290 FPS is a strict limit for power. They obsess over precise authenticity and their build quality is legendary. My son suggests the reason they never did an AEG Garand is the challenge with top loading and the bottom load is too much of a compromise for them. I think he is probably right.
The US market and the rest of the world has never been critical to their success although they obviously enjoyed huge foreign sales for many years. The presence of inexpensive and now fairly well made Chinese guns (mostly clones of their work) has obviously impacted them as they can't compete with the low labor costs and no doubt have strict import restrictions on Chinese airsoft guns, hence they probably continue to hold their domestic sales. They have made inroads with regard to enhancements on things like blow back in electrics and hopefully will create enhancements such as muzzle flash and perhaps a more authentic report with each shot fired.
I don't expect them to go away and hope they continue to come up with things to enhance the hobby. Like others I hope this GnG is a springer with decent power and reliability. GnG is not as inexpensive as the mainland Chinese offerings so expect it to be around $400.00 or so.

There VSR-10 doesn't load like the real deal though.

There VSR-10 doesn't load like the real deal though. Necessary for a springer design. The cylinder needs to be big enough. BTT: This will probably be gas, which i'm actually hoping for. If it's anything like the Tanaka, it will be a monster OTB.

Their Marushin Kar 98 does with it's ejecting shells as does their Garand gas The Super 9 also did and look how awful all of them are. Even the Japanese occassionally will compromise on authenticity to come up with something that works.

If it's anything like the Tanaka, it will be a monster OTB. Yes I know. What I was saying was TM has sacrificed realism for a well working rifle. I don't mind gas but I'd rather have it a springer as I believe it would be cheaper. True but none of those are Tokyo Marui. Marushin never came up with anything very good WWII wise other then their 6mm M1 Carbine.

Tanaka Kar98k also a bottom loader instead of a top feed but that was a good sacrifice instead of the Marushin! If the 'G98k' is compatible with M700 parts that would be good but a cheap springer is still what we're all hoping for.

The M1 Carbine 8mm NBB rocks stop disparging the name of my sweet Bobbi-Sue. Her cousing the 8mm Maxi is a cheap whore though I'll give you that.

True but you have to admit it would have been better if it were 6mm.

According to G+G their K98 will be CO2 powered.

how would the co2 be loaded into it? an extrenal gas source would be very ugly, and i dont think you would be able to fit a crossman co2 cartridge into it

Probably a Co2 capsule in the bolt or in a magazine.

that S-thunder company makes a co2 cartridge adapter for airsoft gun use, maybe we will be one of those, or it might come with one of those

I saw a Walther lever action airgun that housed two Co2 cartridges in the stock.
