Why the banana magazine! It kills the WW2 look. Why not? I like the banana clip look.

They weren't used in WW2. Extremely aggravating to me that they didn't use the WW2 style magazine.

Agreed. But, did you guys see that its a single shot, non blowback gun? That is the only good thing about it ;D The only decent working Marushin WWII airsoft gun was infact their non blowback M1 Carbine. It stinks they didn't make it WW2 style!

Actually I'm pretty sure 30 round magazines were issued in 1944 to replace the 15 round ones. But I might be wrong, my grandpa had both 15 and 30 round clips when he was in WWII and bought a bunch home of each. I'm pretty sure he didn't buy them after the war either. But how do you know that Marushins new 6mm M1 Carbine is bolt action? I have the 8mm one I bought off of redwolf 2 years ago and it is semi automatic. And anyway look here: www.marushin-kk.co.jp/Scroll down to the very bottom and see they are making another 6mm M1 Carbine with the 15 round magazine.

It says in the description, "Cocking action is light and crisp for quick reloads on every shot." Seems to indicate that it is single action. If it was blowback I think it would say. The banana mags may have been used very late war. They were still very uncommon and look out of place at a WW2 game. Hopefully they'll make the 15 round clips. The sights and bayonet lug that they have on the rifle are incorrect for WW2 also, that isn't as noticeable though.

It says the same thing for the 8mm one, and I'm sure that one is semi automatic because I have the exact same one exept the wood is darker, and I bought it from the same website.
But yes 30 round magazines were very uncommon even in 1944 and 1945. I actually don't even think they were seen at all in 1944 unless maybe at the very end.

I read on the Redwolf facebook page that this M1 actually has the small, "15" round magazine, not the "30" round magazine. The guy who uploaded photos must have had to take a crap, and uploaded them in a hurry. Lets hope what Redwolf said is true.

You don't just have to look at the context to see if it's blow back or not. it has "Blowback: NO" "Action: SINGLE". I'm kind of dissapointed, but not too much, my GBB 8MM one works fine, so I won't be purchasing this gun as well, but I'm pretty sure it's just new production made of the original 6MM M1 Carbines.

I figured out, upon dissasembling my Marushin GBB M1 Carbbine magazine, that it can be converted to a 15 round magazine if I could cut and weld the tank, but I found out that it isn't steel. If I could make one or have one made as a straight tank, I could make 15 round magazines for my Carbine.

Hopefully they will make spare 15 round mags so you won't have to go through all the trouble.

This is the quote from redwolf on their facebook post... "Marushin is really going for it this time. M1 Carbine in 6mm with SHORT MAGAZINE!!!!!" so lets hope the pictures are wrong, not redwolf.

idk why everyone gives the m2 carbine so much crap for its quality. I got mine for $150 with 2 mags and i used it at a ww2 airsoft event today in socal. It kicked butt cuz it was dead on accurate and could shoot through thick brush. idk what u guys r talkin about, besides the fact of the post war 30rd mag.

I sure hope they do. If not, I'll make it a goal of mine to make at least one short mag. I've got mag pouches for 15 round'ers but not 30 round pouches. And I'd like to keep some on a stock pouch too. There are stores that still have them, but hell, if anyone wants to sell used ones that'd be great. Anything to reduce the cost. I'll take 'em if they leak even. I don't really get why Marushin didn't make a 6mm variant of the GBB one. That seems to be the demand. Oh well, I hope someone gets one of these new rifles and shows us how they are, just out of curiosity.

there is a photo of a 30 round mag on iwo jima floating around the web somewhere. I would much rather see M2 carbines runnin around than burlaped AKs and M14s.

I guess, but at least an M14 can be converted to an M1 Garand. AK's and M14s can also be had for almost $300 less then the Marushin M2 Carbine. Seems it is already out of stock, hopefully we'll see some reviews or videos soon.

I was reading the Marushin website and they had to make a larger clip to hold the extra gas to operate the blowback system. I suppose if there were someway to put a small container of gas in the stock one could make a smaller clip. Perhaps one of our experts could try this out? In the meantime, I have read there is a great deal of excitement about a factory M1 Garand to be released shortly. Looking at Marushin shipping projections there is no mention of a M1 Garand anywhere. If anyone knows (from a manufacturer) of a M1 definately coming I would love to see it.

Looking at the specs on the website it actually says it is blowback. So much for brining back the old design. I think jettalweis is right about the magazine issue. The smaller correct WW2 type mags just don't hold enough gas to operate the blowback system. Redwolf seems to be the only place that sells them. They are both out of stock there too.
