I hope they release a sniper version. Teaser pics of the PU scope have been released already. I hope that one won't be a limited run.

i believe canadian law only allows clear plastic guns, like the cheapo wal-mart springers. Just a guess, so i could be wrong.
EDIT: whoops, didn't see charley's post when i started on this one. Ill take his word for it.

Some of you are close, some of you are way off.. lol
Airsoft (Full metal/black) is 100% legal to own and shoot, it's import that is the tricky part. Past importation, go nuts.
Importing an Airsoft "replica" firearm into Canada is illegal. A replica basically in laymens terms is an Airsoft or some other such device that does not/cannot shoot less then 430 FPS with a .20G BB, or a device that cannot shoot at all or cannot cause bodily harm. So! If you upgrade the FPS to fire 430-700 FPS with a .2G BB, it is classified as unregulated firearm since now it can cause bodily harm. Now, the fun part is proving this to customs. Once it is in Canada, you are free to downgrade the FPS, paint it purple/pink whatever.
You do not require a gun license of any sort to own or import an unregulated firearm or imitation (Airsoft) luckily. Although, this could make import easier, who knows.
Unless the gun comes factory shooting the required FPS, you have to have it upgraded at said factory/store and shipped with the proper papers.
You can do this all yourself, most retailers are willing to cooperate for an extra free of course, or just go the quick and easy route of buying from somebody who already has gone through the hassle. Of course, you pay a bit more of a premium for this (IE - AGM MP44's go for around $380-450 CAD landed vs the $200-ish U.S price) Then of course some retailers (Such as this one) refuse to believe it's possible or don't want to be bothered with the process. Some others will tell you "We can ship just fine, no need for any papers or such" and cease communications once your "replica" is seized.
Of course pistols are a bit picky to import as it's hard to make them reach such high FPS, so often you will see these with a tinted/clear lower frame for ease of import. But of course, there are a few retailers whom import via magical fairy dust and can get you anything you like, for a price of course.
Hope that helps clear some dust. This is the jist of things, don't quote me as being exact to the dot. Cheers.

Glad its not like that here in the US. I wouldn't have my MP44 if I lived in Canada Is bringing airsoft guns across the border illegal? edit: I guess it is, unless you have some kind of permit and even then you could get the gun taken away.

No, like I mentioned above. You require no permit to own or import. All you require (again, the jist of it here do not quote me on this: Airsoft gun shooting ~430 FPS with a .20 gram BB Said airsoft gun declared as "Unregulated firearm" Time and patience. I have personally imported a Cyma AK by doing this with zero problems. No permits, special licensing or any of that jazz. Once you have the gun sitting in your lap, you can downgrade the FPS as you desire. A people imported the original batch of AGM MP44's no problem as they were shooting high FPS stock... Where as mine I purchased from a local surplus store shooting ~400's This is all really OT for this topic though.
