My Grandfather who served in WWII died at 89. Happy birthday to yours and here's to many more! Cherish him and if you haven't already see if you can write down any of his stories of the war so that his memories of the war will live on long into the future.

Here is my clarinet instructor Bill Alboth. He is a World War II veteran from the pacific and he has told me countless stores about his M1 Garand battle rifle he had from 1944-1945. Today I suprised him by showing him my M1 (manufactured October 1943) I recently aquired, I have not seen him so excited in so long time lol. The bond between a soldier and his rifle is like no other, I saw exactly that! He is 84 years old and lives in Tampa, FL.

I think the queens corronation was in 1952 though so after the war really. We had a king for the duration of the War (two in fact.. George V and George VI.) Doesnt make it any less awesome though

Doesnt make it any less awesome though Sorry to you guys its a necropost here xD but Relating to that, He was on the USS Baltimore (I believe) at the queens coronation and he wasnt it WWII he was in korean only, he never talked really about his war-time days, but when he died i got his ship book full of pictures of his crew. Also, we had original glasses from the coronation, which went to my Aunt who "needed" them (I wanted them ) I miss him so much, the last thing i did with him was show him a polish reenacting unit and he taught me to tie fishing flies (we were going to a Living history event to see the polish unit) it was really fun, i wish he could have told me his stories.
