This is the story of my Grandfather, Johann Pfirsich and my Great Uncle, Albert Pfirsich. Both of them fought in the Wehrmacht from 1940-1945, in the Schwere Panzer Abteilung 506. My Grandfather was an NCO in the Panzer battalion's reconnaissance platoon, his brother was the commander of a Porsche King Tiger, the turret number is unknown(maybe 3-14) because my great uncle is dead and my Grandfather can't remember. They saw action mainly in the Battle of the Bulge around Losheimergraben and Bastonge. Both received the Iron Cross 1st Class. My Great Uncle is credited with destroying 15 Shermans before the end of the Bulge. My Grandfather was shot once by a .30 MG in the shoulder whilst looking out of the half track he was in. After the Battle of the Bulge they saw some combat until the April '45 when my Great Unlace and the remnants of the battalion's panzers were destroyed by there own crews. The war was over for them. My Grandfather is still alive and well today, his bother unfortunately committed suicide instead of surrendering to the Americans.

Your relatives were lucky to serve on the western front. All of my relatives in the war fought on the Eastern Front.

absoluty incredable. I have a little story as well. my great grandfather was a bombadier in a b17. He flew many missions over germany and was shot down. He was a pow and I am not sure how he got out. Unfortunatlly I never knew him I only learned these stories from my grandma. Ive been trying to find out more info on him but I have had very little luck.

My great uncle was in the 8th air force? Thats just a guess but that sounds about right. He was also a Bombadier in a B17 and was shot down but did not survive the crash, My grandpa took me to the Wings over the rockies air museum about a year before he passed and there was a burnt up Bomb site off a B17 and my grandpa just broke down It still makes me emotional today to see my grandpa cry like that But customairsoftweap, Thats a very amazing story man and be sure to pass it on to generations to come before everyone forgets!
