I thought some of you may be interested in this as there will certainly be a number of vendors in attendance. While it is not entirely WWII themed, there will obviously be a great deal of that era represented. www.militaryhistoryfest.com/Reenactor_Fest/Home.html

Bring a backup outfit, just in case. Nothing stands out like a lone NAZI.

jcon, this is a nice event and a very good place to get started because there is a mix of vendors. I've bought stuff there in the past. Schwank, you could go in kit if you wanted to. Many of the people who go do dress up in various historical uniforms so you wouldn't stick out at all.

should i try recruiting for the 3rd PzGr, and the 198th? That goes without saying. Boots if available are great to buy at these affairs as you can try them on.

As mentioned above, many of the reenactors go in uniform so you wouldn't be out of place. Leave your rifle at home.

It's taking a chance when you bring your weapons to events like these. When I went to Reading Pennsylvania last year for WWII weekend one of the guys taking tickets to get in was a complete idoit and almost broke my M1 Garand by opening the bolt then smashing the gearbox. I grapped it from him and said "what the hell are you doing?" and he said in a voice like I was stupid "I need to make sure it can't fire any projectile".
