There are 20 I believe, I hope this means my dad and I have some work to do, once I know what model Spitfire they are the company we work for, Warbird Parts, may be selling to whoever is restoring them.

From what I understand, David Cameron (British prime minister) is going to have these Spitfires shipped back to Britain.
And these Spits use the Rolls Royce Griffon engine. But I don't think much restoring will be needed as they are wrapped in an oiled waxed paper which, should've preserved them to the point where they can be dug up, unpacked from the crates, fueled, and flown like a RTF rc airplane.

It's not that simple. Things deteriorate. A full safety inspection will be needed.

Yeah, I don't think I'd want to be the first person to fly one of those unless it had been stripped down and minutely inspected. But still, you can't get much better in a recovered 60 year old aircraft than to have it still in its shipping container. Great news, adding possibly twenty more flyable Spitfires to the remaining 35.
The waste at the end of the war is just mind boggling. Years ago I saw a picture in an old National Geographic of a field in New Guinea covered with B24 liberators. Instead of shipping them back tothe US, they broke the fuselages in half with a bulldozer and left them. I would image the remains were long ago scavenged for scrap metal. I think there's only a couple B24's still flying now.
