I think this is the correct place. If not, I am sure someone will correct me. Prior to and during WW2 tramps and soldiers would make items from the pieces they had at hand. I have seen beautifully worked artillery shells, mess kits, bayonets, sheath knives and on and on. In this vein I have made an impossible bottle. My particular bottle is called "The long arm of the law" and features a policeman chasing a thief and whacking him over the head with a broken billy club. When rocked back and forth it would appear the policeman is chasing and hitting the thief. The pieces that create this scene are all pegged together. No glue. What makes this an impossible bottle is the plug in the stopper. The stopper cannot be removed without breaking something. A bit off topic, but fun to do Attachments:

Not off topic since you tied it in nicely by saying soldiers during WW2 did artwork like this.
Just shows you have varied interests.
