Since several people seemed to enjoy the last quiz, I thought I'd post another. This one I think will be a little tougher although some questions will be tougher than others. As before post your top of mind thoughts and refrain from cheating by sourcing info on line. Once the responses have run their course Ill post the correct answers.
In WW2 belligerants often came up with code words for major operations. Link the code name with the actual objective or mission. For exampe: Operation OVERLORD, Allied Invasion of Northern Europe. (Normandy)
1. Operation CRUSADER 2. Operation MINCEMEAT 3. operation Watch on The Rhine 4. Operation Catapult 5. Operation CITADEL 6. Operation Watch Tower 7.Operation Uranus 8. operation Barbarossa 9 Operation Sea Lion 10. operation Galvanic 11. operation Torch 12. Operation Husky 13. Operation Badenplatz 14. Operation Cobra 15. Operation Neptune
(there are some obscure ones there but I took them from suggestions from several friends who knew them top of mind and i verified them before creating the quiz.). Good luck and lets see how you do?

Well done, Labrador. Catapult, Watchtower, Uranus and Galvanic sound familiar, but I'd have to Google them

Hell, most of them I have no idea.
Mincemeat was the British placing a corpse off the shore of Spain with documents intended to make the Germans believe that the Allies were not going to land on Sicily but elsewhere. The Spaniards turned the documents over to the Nazis and it worked.
Barbarossa was Hitler's failed invasion or Russia
Torch was the invasion of Tunisia
Neptune was the landings on the beaches of Normandy

Excellent Labrador, Crusador was N Africa. ( The relief of Tobruk ). Your other answers were correct as well. Mincemeat indeed was the deception operation using a dressed up corpse (good catch blood n guts). Neptune was the initial plan for Normandy changed significantly enough to be renamed.

Here are the remaining answers:
Catapult was the controversial but neccessary Allied Naval Operation to destroy the French fleet following the fall of France.
Uranus ( love that name) was the Russian code name for the counter attack following Stalingrad.
Galvanic was the Operational name for the assault of Tarawa
operation Watchtower was the surprise US attack on Guadalcanal.
