Operation Varsity (24 March 1945) was a successful airborne forces operation launched by Allied troops that took place toward the end of World War II. Varsity was meant to help the surface river assault troops secure a foothold across the Rhine River in Western Germany by landing two airborne divisions on the eastern bank of the Rhine near the village of Hamminkeln and the town of Wesel.

It was a pretty good turn out, 12 vs 12 maximum. A lot of fun despite starting a bit late (seriously no big deal). It was worth every minute! Yeah haha, I was a little stressed when I saw guys still getting ready at 9:55... airsoft time...

Everyone left happy so I will take it that it went well. Joe I think there is still a hunger our there for more and guys were asking about any other events soon. We told them about yours in January. We're planning something in March/April and big D-Day in June. Hopefully interest picks up.

Nothing specific, was curious is all if I needed to bring tag rounds for something big & mobile. Haha I like that thinking. We actually went to a reenactment this weekend to try and see if guys wanted to bring their vehicles but not so much luck.

No chance for vehicles in play,(regardless) is there? GZA field is really conducive for vehicles In the past we had vehicles for Vietnam events. I spoke with Jolly about artillery that someone is bringing and he was fine with that. What did you have in mind DRK?

September 17 1944, almost all troops arrived on top of their drop zones without incident. The 82nd concentrated their efforts to seize the Groesbeek Heights instead of capturing their prime objective, the Nijmegen bridge. The capture of the Groesbeek Heights was to set up a blocking position on the high ground to prevent a German attack out of the nearby Reichswald and to deny the heights to German artillery observers.

A little bit about us, we are a relatively new collection in terms of producing events as a group but in no way new at producing events in general. Specifically historic and MILSIM/Immersive styled events. Most of the crew in Broken Arrow Events are namsofters and have been attending or producing these events for years. Earlier in the year some of us were also part of the group that put on Operation Eclipse: Fight for Cologne up in Massachusetts. We hope to start this event off well and continue to do a few more during the year (2018). Any questions, ask away or hit me up (Liam Wachter) or the group Broken Arrow Events on facebook.
Thanks,
Liam
