I just bought a German tri-color flag off ebay. The red/black/white striped one. Now that I ahve bought it question time. Was this flag ever used instead of the nazi flag/ swastika one for armored divisions or the heer? Once I bought it I started thinking that maybe it was for the police in ww2 not sure anyone with any info would be helpfull. It was that one or buy one of the WW1 naval jack flags. And while it is great I don't play a whole lot of ww1 Naval Warfare games.

this is the "weimar republic" flag, so as soon as hitler was elected he replace it with the "blut fahne"

Then why do you still see those colors on some helmets during hitlers time. There is a tricolor shield on the side of some helmets just like it?

Thanks for the help. I actually took some more time looking for it and found this "National and Trading flag of the third German Reich (together with swastika flag) " We are using it in a scenario come Febuary and I just really didn't want to use something with a Swastika on it. I was hoping to find something with an Iron cross or something like that on it from WW2 but there is no escape from the swastika it seems

that flag can actually be handy, as it is technically a ww2 german flag, good for use at games where you dont want to insult anyone with a huge swastika at the german base. Those old tri colors saw less and less use from 1933 on, you only really see them in computer games where the programmers didn't want to use swatikas -Gordak
