I was thinking about getting one of those too! I have the pistol version. In fact I have two. The original Marushin plastic c96 and the taiwan full metal. Both shoot great. They Chrono at about 400 fps with green gas. I wouldn't doubt that the carbine version would be 450-500 fps. They are Non blow back and semi auto by means of a double acting trigger so the trigger pull is quite heavy, but overall a very nice piece.

It is pretty close to the same gun isn't it??? Besides I have found a new toy! I will soon be the owner of a classic Asahi MP40 gas gun with 2 mags:)[happy dance] [/happy dance]

I owned the Asahi/Marushin MP40 myself, I still regret letting it go.
With the right external air rig that is a bb hose!
