I Love mine. BUT,
keep in mind its a Waffen SS issue only Item. Heer and der luftwaffe were never Issued the 44 dot pattern.
And the only 4 units ( that I know of ) that ever recieved them were the 1st SS "LAH" , 2nd SS "das riech" 3rd SS "Totenkopf" and the 12th SS "Hitlerjugand" divisions.
If your doing a Heer Impression, You should just ket the M38 / 40 tunic and trousers, with a Splinter or Italion cammo pattern smock and helmet cover.

Regiment Danmark (Previously Freikorps Danmark), used the dot44 uniforms too. I have several pictures of this in my books. I also belive that other eastern front units got their hands on these articles.

Well, I have an uncle who was a Heer guy, and he and his unit were issued Italian clothing for mountainous terrain. I'll just take his word.

Issued? I bet it was field appropriated at times. I have seen one picture of a MG with sanMarco camo pants.

Italian camo was issued to waffen ss @normandy (signal publications, waffen ss in action). Its not clear if it was administration foul-up.12 ss hj was issued leather u-boat clothing due to this foul-up

??
The Uboat leathers was an official award to the tankers for their service, they were proud to wear them, it was not a foul up.
12th SS got Italian camo overalls, and later the SS produced an anorak of the italian material, there was never an Italian cammo "smock".
Some people might get confused with the italian cammo zelt bahn.

It was for W-SS paratroopers. The shipment was lost in, i think, an airraid.

Hartman, they were SS FJ, So I stand by my statement, "only SS had dot".
also No fotographs and like 2 examples of that smock in existance, so they can pretty much be considered prototypes that were never used. -Gordak

They were being shipped into Normandy when an air raid destroyed to train to the units there. Someone had the whole story. Basically, they were made but not used.

Just so that you guys know, this is what really happend: "Italian Camo Uniforms (Not authorized for wear in the LAH) In 1943 while stationed in Italy, the LAH seized vast amounts of Italian camo from the disarmed Italian military, the LAH later used this camouflage material to reequip their new sister division the 12th SS Panzer Division Hitlerjugend to form the 1.SS Panzer Korps and to reequip their new members from the training battalions." "The Italian camo fur anorak is virtually the same garment cut as the regular type SS green fabric fur anorak. This camo anorak was first used in 1944 during the battle of the Bulge, and continued to be used until the end of the war. (Not authorized for wear in the LAH)" the poncho was only issued to italian troops. They also used the Zeltbahn as camo. Information and pictures taken from : www.lssah.com/ camoflage.htm

yeah, if you watch that stevens color ww2 documentary, you see him an a freind wearing captured ones in the battle of the bulge. Pictures of the uniform in use are very rare, its likely the vast majority of them were captured. (which explains how I got a real one for 300 bux! ) -Gordak
