I was looking at one of my Marushin M1 clips, and I thought, why 8? I know it's for realism, but could one make a bigger clip? I mean, could one cut off the follower, remove the spring, lengthen the BB hold( loop it up in a u shape) add a new BB cradle attached to a longer spring(add two small triangles of metal to guide the spring around the bend) and load with 15-ish BBs. Would it be technically feasible? It's the follower that locks the clip in and allows the bolt to be closed, so could you remove the follower ( but retain the BB cradle) and replace it with more BB hold?

By trying to do that you are 1. going to have a nightmare with feeding 2. the new "part" of the U shape may interfere with the feeding mech, and not allow the clip to be inserted or ejected 3. the follower must have something on the stock mags to hit when the mag is empty so it knows to eject, messing with this may stop it from automatcally ejecting or not be able to come out at all 4. the difficulty in trying to get the shape of the feed tube correct would make another nightmare, as the bottom of the U shape cannot be to abrupt, or the mag will always be jammed up.
I see more problems with trying to engineer an afterthought into a mech that is already problematic. Your best bet for more ammo is just what the GI's did, more enblocs!

Wow....you really don't want to give up. As Brownien said buy a bunch more clips so you can discover like we all did how irritating this gun is to reload and attempt to use during a game. No point in buying more than four or five as at that point you have to squeaze in more gas.
