I just might be able to make metal Dboys shells if anyone is interested. Not guarantees but I have access to concrete, metal(scrap parts from junkyard) and maybe even a smelter if my dad lets me use it. Just give me a heads up and I'll see if I can't throw something together.

Sorry to double post but did Infantry with 1903's have 50 or 100 shells on them fully loaded?

Using the standard cartriage belt, they would have carried 2 stripper clips in each pocket, so a total of 100 rounds.

The prescribed combat load for US GIs was 200 rounds however most when going into an assault or up on the line most secured and carried more.

This doesn't mean carry 10,000 rounds with you. .30-06 ammo is heavy in quantity, and if you carry enough you can actually break your suspenders, etc. ( My friend carried too many in a blankfire reencactment in his trouser pockets and it tore apart his M42s.)

I wanna see the 1903. How's your non-shell ejecting one going?

Not bad, figured that I would use a leaf sight instead of the peephole so it's going to take just a bit longer.
