Thanks to Capt. Zak I've slowly but surely started putting together my WWII kit. While the gear hasn't been much of a problem I'm still trying to decide on which weapon to go with. I've seen the Tanaka Kar98 reviews on Arnies as well as some Asahi & Top MP40 info, but information on the Marushin Kar98 8mm is proving to be difficult to find. Does anyone happen to have first hand experience with the rifle? I'm sure the shells might end up being more of a hassle rather than a neat feature, but I'm still interested. Would accuracy/range be similar to that of its Tanaka counterpart? Cheers, -Hado

No where near the accuracy, range, consistency or functionality for skirmishing that the Tamaka provides. With the Tanaka you're a factor in the game. With the Marushin you're a poser at best and will find yourself more effective with your pistol. I wish that wasn't the case but it is. I've seen and fired both on the field.

Surprising, because Maru's Allied weapons ROCK! ;D -G

DenTrinity's sale pages can be tempting at times, but I guess I'll give it a pass and keep looking for a Tanaka Kar98. Thanks for the info fellas.

I have one, and fielded it numerous times. Here is a list of problems to date:
Busted seals Busted Hop-up Busted bolt (Ball fell off, internals messed) Bent internal mag spring Lost shells
What I am trying to say is, if you baby this thing to death, it will still turn around kick you in the ass and then stop working. Go Tanaka or go home as I like to say.
