These will likely never be Airsoft guns, and hey don't really count because they didn't make it into production before the war ended, but it sure would be fun for alternate history scenarios if someone made up a few. One of these would probably have become the STG45 if it made it into production, and the Gerat 06H was the basis for the H&K G3, by way of the Spanish CETME. BTW, this "Forgotten Weapons" series is pretty good. www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEPwmYcCPFs

High i'm Mark the base gun was ak47,i already had all the internals.Battery is in the stock same as the mp44 airsoft. As me and my son skirmish with AK's the mag interchangeability was useful, but does confuse people as they recognize the mag instantly.Kills at 200ft are possible with 360 fps and 6.04 systema barrel. Breakdown of gun is the same as the replica on the forotten weapons video on Gerat 06h on YouTube. The fake bolt is spring loaded and allows hop adjusts from the left and right of the barrel which is handy sometimes.Fire selection /safety is ultra ergonomic. Strip down - 3 screws hold the barrel cover(front) to the reciever,2 screws hold mag well and 2 more hold hop unit. One screw holds the gearbox just behind trigger,so full disassembley is complete in 2 mins. I have skirmished without serious issue this summer,AR latch jammed and was greased and is ok,3 screw threads stripped and i know how to improve the design now. I am working on the mk2 now,it will use a hybrid V3 Mechbox and mp44 mag, although they are very hard to get,can be equivalent to $32 here in the uk.Most web sites seem out of stock world wide.I want to make a shortened version of the mag,but it will only hold 150 rounds. The long mag on the stg is the only thing I dislike about it. The mk1 weighs 3.4 kg battle ready so a real feel but manageable, construction is sheet steel, apart from the front sight ,and the plug at the end of the barrel shroud are aluminum for lightness, stock is solid oak.The only visible part I did not make is the rear sight leaf which is AK also.I also made the sling and fittings.I will put more pics on my web site soon which will show more detail. The entire gun would have been 2 or may 4 half's stamped from sheet and spot welded together, pure genius, and half the price almost of the MP44 and same performance.Only 70 components so almost as simple as a sten, and less than 4 hours to make one when a k98 took 12hrs.Bolt design was used in MP5 say no more, too bad the Allies put it in a museum after assembling the unfinished trial guns. Any way after all that seems I don't have a clue how to upload my photo

Did you try uploading the photos to photobucket, or a similar photo sharing site? Once you do, you can copy the URL of the picture and post it here.

Hi the mark 2 will take less time to make as I will make the reciever from 2 cold forged half's as on the real gun,the mk 1 was made by welding lots of pieces together, did my nut in but a proto type is needed to get the final tooling right. As for price not cheap as it will still take several days to make one, will know better in a few months when the new gun is made.I will get a better shape to the reciever with the hybrid gearbox. It will have the steel pressed grip in the spirit of late war cost cutting. Some gerat06h prototypes had wood covered grips,i don't know if these were the later ones,as the Germans approving this for combat use considered the metal grip unsuitable for winter use To be honest the development 06h's have almost every component on the gun changing, some had different inline stocks and so higher up sights, even the selector lever moves about and changes direction of rotation, and the barrel sleeves have changing patterns also, one is Bakelite covered to stop burns to the hand.To be honest i don't like that drawing on the Wikipedia page,i have not seen a real example with all of its features, the barrell sleeve is too thin in my opinion, maybe dasign drawings of what the STG45M in 1945 show these features, and are the reference point for the drawing. The test guns are shown with the 10 round mags that was for the VG1-5 KURZ chambered weapon. This was also used on the mp44.
