Ok I have my uniform, and I am trying to buy my y-straps from Zak today, and I bought my mess tin, my sleeve eagle, and my wound badge today.
What should be my first priority? I need a canteen, a helmet, a belt+buckle, a bread bag, a gun *The hfc mauser rifle*, and jackboots.

Hmm, well sincey ou got your Y-straps, you will need a Belt and Buckle. Then I would suggest ammo pouches so you can attach your Y-straps to your belt and buckle. After this you should go for your helmet. Then I would suggest footwear (This can also have high-priority, depending on what you use right now) After that, you will need your breadbag before the canteen (Since the breadbag is used to attach the canteen and Messtin to your gear.)
The gun is a exception. You can wait...or you can get it first. Depends on when you want to play.
After all that gear, may I suggest going for your bayonet, spaten (shovel), and personal effects. If you are going even deeper, pick up a A-frame and a Zeltbahn for overnight field events. Mantel (Overcoat) and various winter gear for cold nights. Then keep goin' personal. Upgrades will probably come here an' there too as you want better gear
Cheers!

I thought I would post here rather than starting a new one. This may sound a little dumb but... Do wool uniforms get hot, I live in Oklahoma and it gets hot vary hot. Or should I just get a smock and wool pants?
If it is to hot for a wool uniform and I dont get a smock I want to get an Afrikakorps uniform but they did not have the MP44 yet, Did anyone other than the Afrikakorps use Afrikakorps uniforms later in the war?

Well, I only know the answer to your first question, I'll leave the second to the Kraut experts Yes, wool uniforms get hot. But one of the many wonderful things about wool(just on of the many,it's the greatest material every) is that it breathes well. I've neverworn a German kit but since it's wool I asume it will be just as hot as any other wool. Jack~

There are many type of wool. It also depend on how open it is. Oversized wool will feel hotter than a closer fitting wool, unless in is very tight, because it will fold up. Also, it is important to keep airflow going. For Civil War Reenacting it is usally smarter to get something that is slightly below your size in many cases, because if it is to big it is usally hotter. One alternative to this would be 1. Wear non-wool camo pants with your uniforms ('late war') or 2. Wear loose fitting wool, like a panzer wrapper. These are comparitively open and are shorter so allow more airflow.

*shrugs* Call me crazy but I love the wool an' can handle it in warm weather. I almost find it cooler wearin' the tunic and undershirt than just the undershirt.
Now, you can always get a HBT set, which is made of lighter material for those summer months. They were widely used an' very popular.

Get a green helmet. Drop me an email if you'd like. I have M-35 repro helmets on the way.
