I think that even after all these months, I'm still drooling at pictures of your M1903s- so the title IS fair!

Bumping this. Awesome job. I am marveling on how well you got the rear sight box on. How in the world did you get it to fit so well?

All that work for an MP001? It looks great however. Like Tom, I am impressed by the rear sight work and the barrel work by the receiver. Pretty.

Thank you all for your comments! The MP001 external barrel diameter is bigger than original barrel but less than VSR10 barrel. So when you cut it from below you can unclanch it a little (metal of the rear sight base is thin and acting like a spring) so you can put it on MP001 external barrel very tight. And now I am planning to upgrade MP001 to make it more powerful and more reliable.

I just got a real steel sight box, I am going to try it on mine. Probably won't work as I have a BAR-10 as the base gun.

I have some thoughts about how to make it on VSR10, but they need to be tested. I think this could be done.

Well I just fitted mine on my BAR-10/VSR-10. It sits slightly higher then yours does. This could have been avoided with some sanding but I didn't feel like it It still looks pretty cool though, thanks for the idea.

The MP001 external barrel diameter is bigger than original barrel but less than VSR10 barrel. Roma - I just looked at an MP001 that I have lying around unmodified and sure enough - it has a noticeably smaller outside diameter for the outer barrel than the VSR-10 clones. Go figure. That is a main selling point. Like the old saying, you learn something new every day. I have one more build in my plans and I guess the next donor gun will be the MP001. The magazine latch is also an improvement. Thanks for the post.

Yes, I think if I will make one more mauser from vsr10, I consider removing upper part of external barrel where sight base have to be placed.

I also used the agm mp001 with my mauser kar98k conversion, and rear sight does fit better because of the outer barrel being smaller. I actually got it close enough where the sights can be used without having to aim low (where as with the bar10/vsr11 it normally shoots very high)

The critical thing with the mp001 of course is the trigger seer which typically needs to be replaced with the JG BAR 10 as well. The MP001 also isn't inter changeable for all the VSR Marui upgrade components and that is a downside but for conversions it's slightly smaller size is a plus.

That is right, that is why I intend to replace inner parts from APS2 or L96, except trigger group.

It 's a shame that one has to marry up so many different donors to arrive at the final product desired but the end result is fabulous.
