WOW!!!!! Wonderful work. I have made a half dozen tripods for assorted machine guns I have built but none as well done as your work. The traverse sleave is brilliant. The mix of metal, wood and plastic is excellent. TRES BIEN!!!!

Nice work! Does a standard pintel fit the tripod?

The pintle is the forked piece that swivels on the tripod, and the gun is attached to. It's basically the mount for the machine gun, that allows it to swivel and tilt to aim.

Tres bien! Are you going to make a T&E mechanism? T&E is traverse and elevation.

I wouldn't worry about the elevine (kinda in French) mechanism, for airsoft the fine adjustments made with it are useless, because of the closer engagement distances. Maybe for display, it would be nice, but I wouldn't bother with making one to skirmish with. Put that manpower towards the fine details you are doing so well at replicating on the m1919 itself!

The T&E mechanisms were seldom fielded in combat. They were somewhat unweildly and more then anything got in the way. They were something of a relic from WW1 where they were used for long range plunging fire alignments. they did have a place n static defensive positions where you could preset FINAL PROTECTIVE FIREs which was somewhat helpful controlling fires (especiallly at night). traverse and elevation mechanisms are still isued with machine guns as far asI know They still were through Vietnam and afterwards but really really didn't see much active use. very very involvedmechanism and in my opinion absolutely NOT worth the effort to replicate. As mentioned by Brownien positively silly for airsoft.
i love the approach you took for your tripod and am going to add the slide bar to mine following your approach (assuming I am able). do you heat the plastic to reshape it? if so what do you use? I Have heard of soaking the parts in hot water and of using a heat gun but I have never tried either.

I will have 2 configs for playing - first, for ornament and position defense wiht tripod, T&B and amobox with dummy cartridges the box and cartridges can be used also in teamplaying, fireman, carryman and supplier - light config without pintle, tripod and amobox. Bbs are provided with lateral box fixed on the MG and i can play like John Basilone or terminator
For heating plastic i use a "décapeur thermique", i think it is what you called an heat gun (it is like a hot hairdryer) Be carreful to don't burn the plastic u can also use an oven about 40-50°C
PVC become very soft and you can form it as you want

Gunner, Assistant Gunner and Ammo Bearer is what you mean. Your English is far far better than my French but I figure you'd appreciate the correction. this tripod is awesome and I can't wait to tackle this project once I get a few things in the hopper done.
The requirement that a MG be deployed with a team is my favorite although at airsoft ranges it's tough to keep the machine gunners alive given the added exposure to fire they have when using a tripod. Fixed positions or inside vehicles are about all that seems to work.
