I'd get ankle boots, honestly they all really hated the tall boots and no one wore them unless they had to.
I've got pics of DAK in shorts and jackboots which isnt uncommon. The high legs took forever to put on and they usually cut the top portion off.
No point in having two pairs of the same hardly worn boot?

i'd also leave your uniform hanging up in a window in sunny weather, turniing it occasionally to get the green out of it.

Not the Greatest picture. Halloween with my lady. Went as a Rottenführer (not like any of my friends would know what that is....) from the Italian Area of Operations (hence the Italian Camo m37 pants) Do Pardon the Gas Mask Strap being askew Also the chain on the second button going in to the pocket is an antique russian pocket watch. My Girlfriend went as babydoll from sucker punch.

Thanks These are from todays "Battle of Ortona" pardon the modern guys in the 2nd pic and also the fact that i'm SS as it was the Fallschirmjäger who fought it, however I don't have an impression for that yet.

Crusher caps were not worn in combat, wear your helmet. I'd lose the sunglasses too If you wore a helmet and toned down the ammount of kit you're humping it would look loads better. Soft caps for rear areas, stalhelms for the front. Your 2 mg gunners look great

I was part of the Axis Command Staff. I was supposed to be in the rear all day. However we sort of brutalized the Canadian Forces and I routinely went out on missions. Was not about to head back to the parking lots and grab a helmet and miss out on the fun. No need to loose any part of my kit. Shovel was used to hack through thick brush (bayonets are not allowed on this field), the zelt conceals my modern Radio equipment save for an ear piece. Mess kit holds my spare ammo + batterys. Breadbag contains repro rations and finally the gas can holds spare water for my canteen, Extra Dead rag, Cell Phone and barrel cover. Though I will be able to replace my jackboots soon as I'm waiting on a pair of lowboots to be constructed for me!

It jut looks a bit wrong having that much kit on you and a crusher. I was running a 60 strong side last weekend and i had a belt, luger holster and mp40 pouch in case we got overrun. Breadbag on a side strap for the radio. Try and find some period pics and copy those, it generally gives a much smoother impression. I wear my crusher if i'm doing an orders group so everyone knows to shut up and listen if i tell them something If i'm 'fighting', it's tin lid time. If you're a weighed down as you are it should be with you anyway!

ah slightly cheating there. They are belgian 1950s desert combats but they are *very* similar to the lufty tropical trousers and balloon the same way at the lower leg.

Lent some of my SS kit to my team mate. Ended up ditching the helmet then later my field cap due to the fogging issues I had with wearing stuff on my head. Was a "Stalingrad" event. The field would not permit us to use our MP40's SRC and AGM's due to the fact the majority of the time was in the "City" and they stipulate semi auto only.(the agms have been modded to shoot on full only and the SRC is full auto stock. So hence the inaccurate mp44) Aware of all the imperfections hence why I post all these pictures in the working on it thread. Since they will be pointed out I am fully aware of the MP44, SS kit, Tan and water pants, East German Jack boots, Post war Swiss low boots with Belgian Gaiters, East German Trench Coat, The modern radio gear. The Camera on the m-35 and PPSh as well as the camera on the mp44, the facial hair. www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzteiQe7I7c Video from the day. A pity no one else showed up in period garb.

Looks pretty good but the scarf looks totally out of place.
Without the scarf probably your best loadout yet.

no, and yes.
I will not be coming, unless a sudden change in plans. The 6th SS usually doesn't come to Pickerel.

Looks Sharp guy. FYI you can get that RC K98 looking 100 times better if you strip that nasty Russian shalack with denatured alcohol, and stain it with Tung Oil. I have also heard Beer, yes Beer makes a good stain. evidently PBR makes a nice color.
