I agree. The IJN is a nice break from the usual AXIS impressions and to my untrained eye look fabulous. Love the details. BANZAI!

I really like the knee-mortar there. As much as I don't like what a lot of their men (could make me a hypocrite since I have Heer impression )did in, I really do like their gear! You and all the others look great! Here's a nice related video.

Love the camo. Why isn't this stitch NAZI? Looks incredibly good to my untrained eye.

Yea IJA's gear is pretty "old-fashioned" looking compared to that of Germany,U.S.,ect. which I like.Hiki shop has IJA stuff for a good price. You can get a basic impression going for over $300.

'Cause I'm missing these on my part: -underwear -more muscle mass -small things not worth mentioning here we do make fun of eachother on our team (in a good natured manner) on kit inaccuracies and add corrections so we work towards something better - it encourages ourselves pretty well and brings our impression together also probably because PTO is severely lacking around here so we all release our excess hobbytime on correcting, improving, and researching lol

When I wasin the Infantry (in the tropics). I quickly discovered that underwear was extremely problematic for me and virtually all of my fellow Infantrymen. Fo that reason 90% of us stopped wearing underwear and usually ditched T shirts as well. The chaffing and in my case skin rot was horrible and going with no shorts seemed to help. (No doubt more than anyone needs to know) but I suspect the IJA made the same discoveries and took similar actions! Their were occassions where indigenous soldiers wore nothing but a cotton wrap almost like a diaper but not under their uniforms.

IJA looks like a fun impression to do.I feel like I might as well do every impression there is in WWII :DStuka I read that since repro Japanese boots are hard to find that other ankle boots are excepted in many groups.

Hello, I'm also a part of this group, I'm seen holding the knee mortar and only one not wearing a tunic in the solo photo. Me an KILL use nakata Japanese army Hob nail boots. I think tango uses German ankle boots(?). The last guy without a helmet cover in the solo shoot and holding a Gunto(army sword) In the group picture is using us ankle boots(rough outs? Is that what they are called?)
TO add on, we also accept the use of tabi shoes(split toe shoes) that are period correct Stewart's carries them for around $9

I'm pretty sure u can go lower depending on what type of impression u want to start, well if u have the cash there is always the option of going higher

that's true, you NEVER see guys on the front lines during a long field campaign with unruley or long hair. LOL! I like the antique effects on your photo.
