I was wondering if anyone knew of a reference that could help me get started on an Italian impression.

Spitfire is the one to go to. But here is a quote from him in the thread partisans. yeah I know of a few, This guy has come very highly reccomended to me, Italian reenactors say he has extremely fast shipping (30 days) but coming from Italy, thats very fast. However his items are a bit pricy. www.militariacollection.com This guy's name is Iacopo, he has reasonable prices, considering you will not find his items anywhere else, literally: www.wwii-militaria.com/site/cgi-bin/shop.cgiThis company supplies mostly american/ british items, but they came across a few Italian items and made some reproductions. If you're looking into Folgore (Italian paratroopers) talk to this guy, he's got a good deal on a rare jump smock. (Italian, not greek) www.pegasusmilitaria.com/index.html One thing I would like to mention is to STAY AWAY from the Italian front group, the website is www.italianfront.com . DO NOT BUY FROM HIM, he has scammed so many people, and this an exact quote of a freind of mine who once bought from him:

Just so you know...
Italionfront.com is evil. They mantain 3 websites to increase there sales, of all which are identical. Also, there items are not of a high quality, and are overpriced, especially as you are almost garunteed never to see them .

As for an Italian impression just drop your weapon and throw both hands in the air!

I have been selling a lot of Swiss tunics to guys who are converting them into Italian tunics. NOT Itallian SS tunics though...regular Italian army tunics.
One guy was at reenactorfest and it looked great. He swapped out the buttons and added all the proper insignia and he looked good. Something different & refreshing.

No Krupp I didn't see that. Of course I always miss the cool stuff. Crap. Capt. Zak I may be in touch with you about that later. As for now, I need to do my homework first.

There are some new vendors to add to the list. perhaps the best retailer there is just put up his website. Great reviews from the guys on the ComandoSupremo forums. The website is in italian, but he is working on putting up the English section, so keep checking back. Just look at some of the photos: www.sartoriaequipe.comEDIT: Click on the link that says Uniformi storiche, and then click on II guerra mondiale For ww2 uniforms, and la grande guerra for WW1 items (very similar to ww2) Here is another website with alot of dress uniforms, but they will work: www.caricat.it/index_e.html This vendor at the moment doesn't have a website, you have to contact him by email, but I have heard good things about him. innerliberation@aol.com There are more people to add to the list of IFG's missing items. I know at least 20 guys that never recieved items from Mr. Vasta. Stay away from IFG, that's all I can say. For a great reference website made by reenactors themselves, they provide pictures, links to vendors, and information on what an Italian reenactor needs. Check this place out for great info. home.comcast.net/~babela29/ (I myself am putting together an Alpini impression) Just PM me if you need any help

Cool thanks for all the help. I'll figure out what units and stuff and then I'll make up a shopping list as it were.
