This is a long shot, but does anyone know of a source for replica plans for the Finnish M31 submachinegun? I know Cushman makes one of their vacuum molded replicas of it, but I don't want to pay $65 for something I'll probably just take measurements off of and throw away.

You can pick up a parts kit for these soumis pretty cheap if you want to use original parts. They're pretty cheap firearms, I've seen them go fully assembled, with a few stick mags, coffin mags, and drum mags for only about $500

Thanks for the links. Very helpful. I found a place that has original stocks at a reasonable price. The KP31 is a gun that has always fascinated me, but I'm not sure how useful it would be since only the Finns used it in combat (the Swedes and Swiss built some under license for their own use). It would still be fun to have one.

Glad I was able to help, but it all depends on the internals of the airsoft gun you are going to use.
On a side note, what kind of Mag are you going to use?

I'm thinking of using an MP40 mechbox, if the dimensions of the gun will allow it. For a mag I was thinking of a short Thompson mag made to look like the 50 round "coffin" mag. This is still in the vaporware stage.

Okay, I was thinking of a CYMA M-14 GB but then the problem of the mag comes in, so it all depends on how you want to seat everything. Since the M-31 does look like a PPSh, I think modding an M-14 can do the job. But then, its just all up to what you want to do

I found a gun shop locally that had a M31 parts kit. Just looking at the stock I can tell a MP40 mechbox won't fit. It might be doable to a make dimensionally wrong "looks sorta like" M31 stock designed around the mechbox, but a real one won't work. Or convert a PPsH41. Or put in on the back burner and finish something I've already started.
