Does anybody have ideas on what kind of base rifle I should use for a Boys AT? My field I play on doesn't allow ant projectiles other that bb's so I have to make it a sniper rifle.
If anybody has dimensions, or ideas on how I should build this, please tell me

I actually thought about this a while ago, I was thinking a VSR11/Bar10 or similar a bolt action

I was also thinking along the lines of that but just how would you get the top loading mag? I was just thinking of keeping the original and making a dummy mag out of plastic

I believe you should be able to just flip the hop up and mag system some how and it would still work. the problem becomes when cutting through the barrel unless you remove the barrel and just use pvc for and elongated and perhaps more dimensionally correct barrel

You could use a P90 hopup that feeds from the top. Simply flipping a standard hop will simply make the BBs hop DOWNWARD. Edit: Another option would be use the mechanism of a Socom Gear M200 8mm sniper rifle. The bigger round would better represent the .55 AT round that the Boys fired, and the shells would mean the hop could remain the same, you'd just need to put the action in a new receiver. You may need to modify the bolt also.

I don't think you can use a p90 hop up in a vsr 10

Anything is possible, the question is whether or not the return is worth it. You'd have to cut a slot out of the VSR upper receiver, and probably make little reinforcing parts to keep the hop in place, as well as fabricate a new mag catch and a remove a section of the upper receiver to allow the mag to fit.

Thanks for the Ideas guys, but a question is, Can I keep the original mag, and just make a dummy one? I mean, if I have to, I will make a new mag and hop for it

Since the original VSR mag is contained within the rifle stock and is discrete I would say use it and simply make a fake magazine. Whenever possible when making custom guns leave as much of the functional portions of the base gun alone. Especially the feed system.

Okay, well I got some basic dimensions, and I will get a VSR/Bar 10 copy, or the actual thing, and try to start work
