Does anyone have anything drawn in AutoCAD or anything like that? Been a while since I posted on here, pretty much got out of airsoft. Just got too busy and had too many hobbies and needed to cut back. But I still visit and read.
I bought a CNC plasma table a few weeks ago, and thought a dummy/airsoft m1919 would be a badass thing to cut out on it. I thought maybe someone had already done some CAD drawings for it, and might be willing to share them with me.

I can send you some complete hard copy template sheets if that will work? PM me with your mailing address if you want them. Nice to see you back on the site

Thanks 2nd Bat, I have some drawings (killbuckets I think) on my other computer, I was just hoping maybe to get the already drawn in a CAD program. I may just have to draw up my own drawings, it shouldn't be SUPER hard, I think a few hours I could get them drawn, just didn't want to re invent the wheel if I didn't need to. I am still dialing in my machine, but I've got it close to ready to go. I couldn't help but think of all the amazing stuff I could have done with it when I was into airsoft while I was looking at ideas for projects. If I can get drawings made up for a 1919 I will for sure offer them up. Likely as a kit of some kind where you can put them together like a big metal puzzle and then weld and paint it. Thanks guys. I've read a lot here even since I've been gone, just haven't had much to post as I'm not playing airsoft at all anymore and sold 99% of my ww2 stuff. I kept some of the stuff to use camping and for decorations and stuff, but most of it's gone. I did keep my guns.

I would be highly interested in a kit! Even more so if metal! I have been wanting a m1919, but I wasn't really interested in a 1/2lbs ABS plastic gun. I really wanted a full metal reciever, but had no means to cut out sheet metal thick enough! If your plans do work out, and you can offer a kit, sign me up for one in the first batch!

I have a few projects lined out right now, but I will be adding this to the list. I will see if I can't get some drawings and dimensions and start drawing things up so when I'm ready to cut I knock a few out quickly.

I think there would be quite a demand for a do it yourself metal kit although you will discover as Killbucket did that even in kit form and in plastic they are very labor intense as there are so many parts and doing sales, production, fullfilment and customer relations quickly becomes full time work with part time income. I'd love to see these produced however and aybe with the cad machine much of that labor goes away in ways I can't even imagine. Your presence on these boards have been missed.

I too would be highly interested in an all-metal M1919 kit. I remember at one point you were restoring a Dodge weapons carrier? How'd that go?

well polar star is making 25 units out of steel i believe so the weight is nearly 1:1 i believe, after that, the rest wil be made of aluminum

Most of the work on my part would be the drawings... once I have the parts drawn it's really as simple as putting the sheet of metal onto the table and hitting "go". That's the cool part of CNC.
As far as the work of orders and sales, this machine is going to be my new job. I destroyed my shoulder two years ago, and finally after surgery and a year of PT I settled with UPS and resigned after 9 years of working there. I've been going back to school to learn a little more about welding and fabricating. The school had a CNC plasma table and I just instantly saw the potential for a small business if you owned one. Luckly I got the settlement money right about the time I was thinking about wanting to get one and start a company. It all has worked out really well. Like I said, I just finally got it all set up and running, still dialing it in. My wife and I are hoping to focus on 4x4 products as that's what we both know and enjoy, but custom art and stuff like this will be done a lot too I'm sure.
I think in kit form, it would be pretty simple for me to produce. I am not sure I'd want to build the whole things, but as a kit it would be pretty reasonably priced I think. Most people have a friend who welds if they don't. If not.. I MIGHT be willing to stick a few of them together to sell complete, it will really depend on how much work it really is to get them together.
I ended up selling the weapons carrier. I bought a house and didn't have the money or time to really give it what it deserved as far as restoration. I ended up getting twice what I paid for it so I was a little sad to see it go, but at the same time I made a lot of money and ended up buying another land cruiser with the money which is far more useful.. although not as cool.
I will be making mine out of steel for sure. Steel is cheaper, easier to work with, and stronger.. and I think the weight would be close to the real deal.

Here is the table. Don't mind my ratty tweeker shed... hopefully the table makes me enough money to build a real shop in the next few years, but for now my nasty little shed will have to do.
