What cool stuff did everyone get for Christmas? Please just share things that are related somehow to WW2 Airsoft. I got a very cool old wood case that held simulated wounds for medic and first aid training and a brass fire extinguisher for my 43 Willys Jeep. The Moulage kit box is probably a NAM era deal but its a very cool OD hinged box. About a third the size of a footlocker with lots of great internal dividers. A neat storage and event box. The Fire extinguisher is especially nice because it included the mounting brackets which are far harder to find then the brass extinguishers. I will have it set up in my Jeep before the day is done.

Is that the one with the built in brass knuckles from fieldwerks? Nice detail item.

got a 1945 dated M1 carbine scabbard, the full stocked version. It has a weird field modification, the soldier lengthened it by 6 inches using OD3 canvas.

I got a GoPro Camera! Not WW2 at all, but once I get my US Para med pouch in the mail, I will be mounting it in there and then to my helmet, so I can film events!

I ordered one of the CYMA M1 carbines to modify, My boys got bits and pieces to WW2 uniforms. They both now have M42 uniforms. Next is more webgear and some boots for them.

That frikkin' Santa must be an identity thief! Every time he brings me a present it shows up on my credit card. Seriously, the only good thing about getting old is having ridiculously high credit card limits.
Anyway, Santa ordered me a Dboys Kar98, just because I've always wanted to fool around with one and see how many ways I can break it. Maybe it'll be the basis of a future unfinished project.

The dboys plus a VSR rifle has great potential. The Dboys on its own is fun indoors, 12 feet away from your target otherwise...not so much.

I got a German reversable winter parka in sumptarn pattern and winter trousers in pea dot pattern. Also I got a cheesy Mauser broom handle Springer and holster which I don't think is quite a 1:1 scale replica.

Is the sumptarn a somewhat lighter camo that has some almost pink to it in places? There were so many German camos its hard to keep track of them all.

Not really pink, that would be a little Sally for my taste, but it has a nice olive and green drab on drab with some brown mixed in going on. It's the water and tan pattern used by the Luftwäffe late in the war. It's very well constructed out of heavy twill, and insulated with wool or something else that's got some loft to it. The reverse side is off white cotton duck and reinforced at the elbows and also has drawstrings at the bottom of the coat to keep snow out. I think these parkas made their appaerence late in the war after the Germans had learned the costs of sending men into a couple of Russian winters without proper cold weather gear. It was too little to late though, many a brave schütze froze to death for his Fürer on the front. I tested it out the other day when it was below 0, kept me pretty warm so hopefully I won't share in their fate. Can't wait to put it to use at the upcoming game, looking forward to it.

I've been looking around on the forum and the web for a straight forward artical on how to do this mod. Found bits and pieces, but nothing like a how-to guide. Anyone know much about how to do this? Looks like the only way to get a period bolt action that is a springer.

Yeah, I've actually seen Tom use it quite a bit. He did a really nice job on it and the bolt it really smooth
