Hey folks,
I have been thinking on this for awhile. Who else thinks America needs a revival of class? Back in the 40's people cared about other people than themselves. But they also cared about what they looked like. For example Women were prettier in the 40's. Not only on the outside but on the inside as well. They cared for others, took pride in what they looked like. Nowadays if you need to go to the store half the people you see there are in pajama pants and barefoot with their kids running around raising &%#@. In the 40's a Lady wouldn't let that happen.
Anyone else agree?

Kinda, I mean there's Rita Hayworth and stuff, but there are plenty of pretty women nowadays too.

There are elements of redemption for every era. In many ways life was simpler and more courteous and meticulous in the 40s and 50s in other ways our contemporary society is much more tolerant and accepting of others and more aware of their impact on others then most people were back then. Do what you can for others and resist selfishness and your life will be blessed regardless of the decade. Make no mistake about it there were ass hats in the 40s and plenty of them.

Shifty I agree with you. But I don't really mean the models. I mean your typical everyday women.

2nd Bat, I sure try to be. I'm raised in an old fashioned family with good values and I try my best to be a good person. I just kind of like the idea of a simpler life.

Kilroy, I think we all do... I think we all strive for that inner happiness and it's getting a bit harder now with all the screens everywhere, flashing lights and catchy slogans on TV. It still can happen though. I always take time out of my day just to reflect on what I did and calm down. It's pretty much a true fact that as women gain more places of power, they're apperences change. I mean, look at the Pilgrims they wore 16 or so layers of undergarments and so I think that if they saw us in the 40's they'd be flipping out like we are today. But there is also the fact that you really have to find a good girl, I think you are just seeing that bad. Remember, we romanticize what the future and past were. Take Middle Age Paris for example, we portray it as a a beautiful city just like it is now, but it really wasn't. Crap was everywhere and people were getting sick left and right. So I really all just depends on where you look and what you are TRULY looking for.
