Hey guys, gotta couple questions here. So I just blew a lot of money on my impression so far (not a lot compared to other people's impressions, but for a lower middle class 16 year old) and its not complete still. I can put the money for miscellaneous pieces of field gear I still need to get, but one thing I want is a great coat. Now German reproduction great coats can run for $170+, and I'd rather not spend that. I have found Swiss great coats to be similar to German great coats, and significantly less expensive. Of course they aren't exactly like the German great coats. I need to add a 2-4 buttons and button holes, I'll add a strip of wool to the shoulders so I can attach my shoulder boards, and I'll replace the Swiss buttons to German ones. I might be missing a couple things. Now for the questions. First off, do they sell any in a field gray or similar color? If not, what's the best way to change the color (dye, fabric paint, etc). Wat model of Swiss great coats are the best? Please attach links if you can and if I'm missing anything, please let me know. Thanks guys!

What size do you take? I know of a vendor who had (and I think still has) German greatcoats in the $60 range, but the only size is around an XL-XXL. Let me know your interest.
