98k vs 98k G

hey all.

what's the difference in Tanaka's 98k and their 98k G-version?
i looked for their specs and i couldnt find anything different between them from what i found

i mean is there any difference in performance of the actual guns, seeing as the G-Version is $50 more than the other

the G-version is improved in many ways, this does not mean the original tanaka is not worth anything.

I went through the list of changes on a post a long time ago.
cant do another list right now....

the main difference is the bolt

the bolt on the new G version has a threaded tube which can take small grub screws that will limit the amount of gas flow, which in turn will drop the FPS, making the gun more skirmish-able for some sites

also the wood stain is better looking than the wishy-washy yellow that was on the first k98's

How do you set the fps on the kar 98? and how low must it be to be skirmishable.

I think the top FPS on the K98 is about 490

in the UK 328 is about the limit on most sites (also a 10% lea-way), altho some allow upto 400 with bolt actions

the FPS limit all depends on where you guys play

if you look at the bolt on the K98, you will see a small brass tube, thats where the gas comes out, the "G" version has this part threaded, this allows you to reduce the size of hole by screwing in a small grub screw
