Will hobnails work with the rubber soles of east german jackboots, or the soles of european lowboots? *the ones from here* www.blitzkriegmilitary.com/ -Mauser98k

Dakota, No; unfortunately, the rubber soles on Jackboots and Low Quarter Boots will not hold Hobnails. The problem is that the Hobnail itself resembles an "arrow", if you will. When it enters the shoe's sole, it will literally rip up the rubber, and create a big mess. With the holes that will be created in the process, all debris, water, mud and earth will collect inside each and every one; thus, creating an outlet to harbering inside, where you feet will be. The leather on the correct ones will not allow this to happen. Sorry buddy; like I mentioned to several others earlier, never skimp on the purchase of you footware. Keep in mind, Hobnails are the applesauce ; but, not necessary. If you're looking into saving a couple of extra bucks and still look fantastic, just go ahead and buy the boots with no Hobs. That's what I'd do anyway. Good luck on your decision.

Not to fret man! The East German Jacks are great, and really comfortable. In all honesty, I'd go ahead and save .10 cents on every dollar I make, and buy the real deal later on. Check out www.atthefront.com They have an AWESOME pair of new and correct Jacks for sale.

"Have I tried em' yet?" No, unfortunately not, but I am currently saving up for a pair. A buddy of mine in 11th Komp. "Der Fuhrer" bought the Low Quarter pair, and he loves em'.
