Anyone here do a Finnish impression? I'm not planning on doing it just yet, but I plan to start, maybe finish my Finnish impression by the end

I've thought about doing it just for the heckuvit. They weren't exactly lavishly supplied, so there's not that much stuff you have to buy, and you can make do with some German and "liberated" Russkie field gear. Hikishop carries the basics. But where around here would anyone ever do a Winter War game?
You can find some Finnish movies about the Winter War and the Continuation War on Youtube. Look for "Talvisota" and "Tali Ihantala". The complete movies are there. There's also clips from another movie, "Rukajärven tie" but I haven't found the whole thing. They seem pretty accurate as far as costuming.

Actually, they also used a lot of German Great War field gear from my understanding. A lot of it. You could have all your field gear except for the belt be Great War German and it would be accurate.

I suck when it comes to alot of the gear used by finnish troops during the war, but I bet some swedish stuff was around. Over 8.000 swedish volunteers participated alongside Finland in 1940, and swedish gear is pretty cheap and readily available on the web. Just a small tip for a pretty cool and unusual impression!

Yeah thanks! I was going to get German Great War field gear, but I'll take a look at Swedish stuff too. Might be worth it. But this is a pretty inexpensive impression anyway.
